This is a YouTube video titled "How NOT to Write Standard Operating Procedures ❌ Part 1" created on October 26, 2023. The content features a single speaker providing advice on best practices for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), emphasizing the importance of making SOPs easy to update and retrieve information from rather than creating lengthy, hard-to-edit video SOPs.
If you're creating standard operating procedures, you're going to create them one time and hopefully have them be used weekly, monthly, annually, forever. You are going to be using SOPs far more often than you're going to be creating SOPs. So don't create them lazily. I know. Create them in a way that you can easily add to them later that you can edit them, you revise them, you add screenshots, you add this, that and the other. And that means do not create long video sops that are going to be pain in the butt to edit and update and revise. No, just stop it. Keep your life simple. Focus on making your SOPs easy to retrieve information out of. Even if that means you need to slow down a little bit on your pace of creating SOPs. Your life down the line will be way easier versus if you do the opposite.
