This is a YouTube video titled "How to bring up money when networking." It contains a conversation between two speakers discussing strategies for introducing financial topics and referral fees in professional networking contexts. The dialogue focuses on practical approaches to broaching money matters with contacts and agencies.
Sometimes I feel like I am delivering that value. I've made the connection. But how do you actually open up the conversation of, I'm glad that this worked out for you. What's your approach towards actually bringing money up? These sorts of situations?
Bring it up right away. I just had breakfast with a good old buddy of mine this morning and he's working at an agency and he's like, yeah, we're really looking for enterprise level, ERP sort of clients and stuff. And I was like, I run into that on occasion. Usually what I do is a finders fee for something like that, you know, about 5 to 10% of the first years of invoices. Would that be acceptable to you guys if I brought something in, oh, I'll go talk to the bosses and whatever and then, boom, it's done. To your point, you're talking about maybe something a bit more active, right? It really depends if it's one, you know, small agency to another. Like a lot of times I just do them a solid and I'm like, here you go. I don't take anything from it. You know, take me out and buy me a steak or something, you know, like. Or I've had people like, show up and just bring a nice present or something as a thank you later and. And that's fine.
