Galactic Fed uses written assessments to screen remote job candidates, testing problem-solving skills and motivation. The company prioritizes self-starters because remote work requires people who can work independently without constant oversight.
We believe that every single position we hire for, no matter if it's something lower level up to an executive position, we start with a written assessment where it has like seven different sections ranging from a wi fi test where you'd be working to, if you're someone not from a primarily English speaking country, to submit some sort of English certification. But the bulk of it is asking people to do a sort of case study situation where depending on the role, let's say it's a PayMeet account manager, it might be, here's a prospective client who's asked you to build this type of campaign. How would you approach this? What type of ads would you make? These sorts of things. If it's sales, maybe it'll be like, here's a difficult client. How would you convince them that they need to go with us? And I found that we learned a lot from seeing how people approach problems that way and also frankly, how much they care. Because again, this is a remote company. We need self starters. We need people who don't need people looking over their shoulders. If they see a written assessment like this and they're like, ah, I don't want to do this, I just want to talk to someone on the phone, they might not be a good fit for Galactic Fed. We need to see that they care to do something like this.
