Walk through setting up a CRM in SmartSuite from scratch. Learn how to categorize contacts and opportunities within the platform's hierarchy, and the foundational structure you need before anything else works.
What I have categorized are two different types of information that go into a CRM build out. But what these are is kind of like the baseline for most CRM setups. Contact is referring to the unit of relationship. I guess, for lack of a better word, to the right. We have opportunity or deal. But all this means is what is the relationship result that we're looking for. So whoever our unit is, that's probably going to be what we consider as our contact and then our unit of measurement for how successful the CRM will be. Our opportunity side. Where does this go in the SmartSuite hierarchy? The beautiful thing about SmartSuite is that there is not a right answer to this question. Because SmartSuite has different layers we can build out. And with all of those layers, the only thing that we need to keep in mind is kind of the order of the information. All it needs to be is high enough in the hierarchy that it accomplishes and gives us the features that we need to have. So my general suggestion as a baseline is going to be to have our overall CRM as a solution.
