Hey, Hub heroes. This is Jorge fuentes from the SidekickStrategies team. And today we're going to take a look at how to implement a CRM data backup. This is a feature within HubSpot that is probably not the most flashy or the funnest of all the features that are available in the platform, but it definitely is one of the most critical components of HubSpot. And today we're going to dive into how to create a backup, how to download it, and also what we can do as far as restoring any CRM data backup. So without further ado, let's dive in.
All right, so we're going to log into HubSpot and on the top right.
Hand corner over here where we have the gear settings icon, we're going to click on it.
And then on the left hand side we're going to scroll all the way down to where we have backup and restore. And over here is where we're going to create our first CRM data backup. You know that this is going to be downloadable, which will include our data, and also this is going to be helpful for us to seamlessly bulk revert any data to a previous state with an automated restore. So let's create the backup. Let's click on Create Backup right here and and then we're going to click on Create. Now do know that this notification pops up. Your backup may take some time to complete.
You'll receive a notification when it is.
Ready and once it is complete, you'll have 14 days to download a copy before the link expires. So let's actually create that data backup and shortly we'll be receiving a notification while that is taking place and processing. Do know that here we have a little bit of what's included in the backup. So after processing, your backup will be delivered as a zip file containing multiple CSV files and these can be opened and edited by any spreadsheet tool and will contain the following contacts, companies, conversations, deals, tickets, custom objects, products, calls and tasks. It won't include association data or activity data for these records. And that is how we can proceed to backup our data in HubSpot. You will also see that this one is now complete. So if I click on download or restore, both of those are actions that I can take now with that particular backup. And it includes both the status, the backup date and also who it was created by.
And that's pretty much it. So now you know how to create a quick CRM data backup which will safeguard your business from any potential future errors that may need reverting and which before this CRM data backup feature of HubSpot, it was very difficult to implement. Remember, education is great, but the execution is where it's at. So go out there and be the hub hero that your organization needs today.
