Good morning, HubSpot Nation. It is time to Wake up, Customer platform with your unofficial HubSpot updates morning show where we help you discover the platform value you already own. I'm Chris Carolyn, joined by my co hosts Casey Hawkins and George B. Thomas. We are here every weekday morning to make sure you're not sleeping on HubSpot's true capabilities. If you're joining live, drop a hello in the comments and let us know what you're building in HubSpot today. Happy Monday August 25, 2025. One week out from inbound. Yes, sir. Speechless. That's how good she's doing.
Sorry, I thought you were talking. I thought you were talking to George. I am doing well. It was a busy weekend. It's back to school week here. So renavigating. But also last week I missed a lot of the shows because of camp drop off and we are officially out of camp season.
So I'm kind of excited about and into school season. I hear good things.
Yes, school season. You know I love in love. I'm doing good. By the way. Chris, I'll ask you in a minute how you're doing just to make sure that you're still ready to rock and roll next week. But I love how in life there are patterns. I got to do something this weekend which always excites me and it's when I go shoe shopping for inbound and I got me some new purple kicks, I got me some new orange kicks to go with the hats and hoodies which by the way, by the way.
Just.
Just saying.
Serious business.
The hats are ready. I got a new gray and black version. But the rest you've already seen like red but brand new hats for inbound. For inbound.
Have I have. Have I earned a hub heroes hat?
Yeah, we should get you a hub heroes hat, my friend. We should get you one of those.
I have. I actually spent my weekend prepping for inbound too.
Nice.
But I'll. I'll surprise you in person.
Oh, I love it. I love it. Chris, how the heck are you doing, brother?
I'm doing Good, I'm doing good. Felt really good to get the agenda finalized for the value First Data Summit on Thursday. It took me a minute to figure out how to just manage the overwhelm of 20 plus experts coming together and wanting to participate and being like, yeah, wherever you need me, man. It's like, all right, how do we make this work? Really happy with the way it's turning out. I think we got a good flow. Super excited for that first ever thing on Thursday.
Yeah, yeah.
I can't imagine because I'm in the chat with the. As One of the 20 experts, I'm in the chat and I know, myself included, I've just been like, whatever, like wherever you want me.
That'S fine. Power of Chris. Carolyn, I'm gonna just say, just.
It feels helpful saying it because you're just like, yeah, whatever. You tell me, Chris, where you need me and I'll be there. But from Chris's perspective, he's like, tell me where you can be and when.
It goes both ways, for sure.
Yeah. What's funny is you have 20 humans who in their business are already focused on value first and you have a gentleman who is trying to put together something around being value first. And so the value first people are like, yeah, wherever I can add value.
Yeah, it's a beautiful thing. And when we pull it off, it's going to be a great case study for, I think, how people should think about going to market moving forward. Yeah. Three updates. Three updates today.
I don't know how we're gonna make it through.
Yeah, it's gonna be a hard show. We'll do it today.
So we can always focus on schedule for release when it calls for it. But let's get into these three domains. Activity log. This is a new one. I feel like. What is it? You can now download a CSV file of your domain change and activity history from the past 90 days. This includes updates like domain additions, removals and settings changes.
This matters because previously you had to contact support to investigate changes to your domain. Now you can self serve this history at any time, saving you time and giving you visibility into recent domain activity for compliance, troubleshooting and audit purposes.
Yeah, yeah, this is good.
Available at Content Hub Enterprise. Notice that data collection began on August 19. Previous news are not reviewable. Yeah, yeah.
I can just imagine why this is needed.
Hey, yeah.
All of our landing pages down. Oh crap. Jimmy screwed with the domain settings. Well, at least now we can see that Jimmy should be keeping his hands off of the domain settings.
I was just about to ask for an example, use case George. So thank you.
Great minds, brother. Great minds.
Great minds indeed. So pretty straightforward. I think we're going to see more of this kind of bulk audit access understanding of the website at content hub enterprise level moving forward. It's a, it's a big need for anybody seriously wanting to support website at enterprise levels. At least the old way that people like to do it with, with auditing and all that stuff.
See, I like that you can download the. I guess 90 days. Here's where my brain goes though is like this is obviously built for a reason, maybe even past this. Like imagine the activity log is now there. HubSpot's now tracking the information that they once weren't tracking. And also then there's a layer of AI. What can AI do or help you with if all of a sudden activity log XYZ happens and so this needs to happen to or for you. That's my curiosity of what's going to happen with, with that kind of stuff and the activity logs and the. Yeah, journal system. Imagine you're in HubSpot and all of a sudden breeze pops up and starts to give you a message around the fact that five seconds ago Jimmy was an idiot, accidentally turned off a domain setting that was all of your landing pages. Now you're only down five seconds instead of like five hours. Because AI and conversation and the power of a CRM. By the way, HubSpot product team, if you're listening, that might be a great use case. Anyway, I'll be, I'll be quiet.
It could also be a precursor for maybe some more bulk editing. That would be super interesting. All right, moving on.
AI powered because we're short on time for all these videos.
Okay, what is it? AI powered video marketing platform. Easy and fast video marketing. I think this is our favorite video marketing update finally coming out of beta. What is it? Introducing a new suite of video features that streamline your workflow, publish SEO optimized content faster, manage video lineage and editor projects, and measure performance across channels. Combined with our new clip editor, HubSpot is the ultimate destination for marketing videos and lots of other kinds of videos that you might want to make too. AI Optimization Optimizing a video for SEO is time consuming. It requires understanding all the fields that are required. Now you can see all the SEO relevant fields on a single screen and quickly optimize your video with AI performance insights. Whether your video is hosted on your website or shared on social media, we have the reports to help you analyze its performance and clips. If you Use Remix to generate video clips. You can now manage these video projects using our Clips tab. The Clips tab will show you draft editor projects and rendered videos. You can even open the new clip editor and create a new clip from the app itself. And just to like clarify, like, not just a clip editor, it's like getting closer and closer to like full editing capabilities in this thing. It's. It's pretty crazy what they're doing with it.
Also, before I get into why it matters, when you said we have the reports, it really was sending me to Arby's. We have the meets on commercial.
Oh, I love that commercial you got.
And I just can't move on until I get that thought out of my brain and make everyone else.
For some reason, it's a little less satisfying for me. We have the reports. Oh, yay.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
We have the reports.
Yeah, reports is a good thing. So let's not like ditch on that.
How about we make some videos first?
Well, but, but yes, yes, then we.
Can worry about the video reports.
Well, yes, make the videos, but we need the video reports because like, you need to be able to watch the game footage. You need to be understand the analytics under the game footage. Like, it is all about like, am I saying the things that people want to hear or need to hear? And are. Am I delivering in a way that is engaging? And like, is it impacting the overall results of building a relationship, AKA what most of you call conversion? But, but like, it. I don't want, I don't want to like, diss on the reports. Reports are a good thing. You know, I can't get something out of my head. By the way, Casey, we've been hanging out way too long because you're, you're becoming, I think maybe like me where, like something will pop in your head and you just gotta say it otherwise, because I'm very much the same way. And as soon as I saw this, I. I flashback to Friday, Friday, a call in show. If you didn't know, we do a call in show Friday. I'm sure Chris now will give you all the information before this episode is over on when and where and how you could tune in and call in. But I go back to Friday, traveling back in time, and Kyle said, I can't wait. Kyle Jepsen, by the way, the one, the only, the, the famous by the way, I googled Kyle over the weekend because my wife had a question. She was like, how old is Kyle? I go, I don't know. Let me See if he's that famous yet. I googled how old is Kyle Jepsen? He's not that famous yet, but he's working on it. Anyway, my point is he said I can't wait until I can hit the record button in HubSpot Product team, if you're listening, the ability to have like a whisk. No, no. Vidyard go video. It's what it used to be called. Or a Wistia soapbox. That's maybe what it's still called. I don't have used Whisty in a while, but the ability to have like a record button in HubSpot, whether it be in our file manager somewhere.
Maybe.
Yeah, maybe the day of inbound. Maybe. Maybe.
Yeah, right.
I don't know. Just never mind.
I, I and anchor and that team are. They are our avid watchers of the show. They know I'm a big fan and if you want a plus one, we are. What George. If you want to plus one what George just said and get a full understanding of this update. They're going to be around at the admin's hug tomorrow tomorrow showing all this stuff off. Oh yeah, and Anur, I got to do an unboxing with them right after the video marketing platform came out. Yeah, let's go not sleep on this update folks.
Also Ankur, if you're watching, I have a business proposition for you. So DM me.
Wow.
Bam.
It got real.
Wait, we never even got to why it matters. We got chatting.
We should do that. We should.
Why did Casey.
My whole job, my whole job here other than to pitch, anchor, shoot me shots. This matters because marketers recognize video as the top performing content format yet optimizing repurposing long form videos, what we do every day into social clips and tracking omnichannel performance often demands multiple tools, fragmented reports and intensive SEO research, making the process overly time consuming and cobbled. The exact reason why you don't see a lot of clips from me on my LinkedIn feed.
See and, and here's where I go to like I can't wait till this is. Maybe that's good enough. I don't know if I want to say it that way. So like I am on this mission. I. I already know in 2026 because I'm giving everybody the rest of this year on 2020. In 2026 I am on a mission to decrease my tech stack and I know that if I can get my team member and if this is good enough to do our clips in here, I can get rid of opus clips. I already know that there's like reasons that I'm probably going to get rid of. You know, a voma. Like there's just, there's, there's just multiple tech stack softwares based on three things that I'm just gonna start to shed. 1. HubSpot to my ClickUp account 3. My Google workspace. I'm trying to figure out in 2026 if those three softwares run my entire business and if so, what a fantastic world that is in my bank account. I'm throwing that out there. Okay.
I'm gonna make a bet that you're down to two by that you are are updating that to say two by the end of this year maybe.
We'll see. I've heard about some of the magic not to be talked about on this show. We'll see.
Yeah. We will see. Indeed. Yeah. Super excited to see anchor at the Hug and in person next week video folks. Get to it last for today. Enroll Workflow Permission what is it? The Workflows app previously had three basic permissions that a user could have view, edit and delete. We are happy to introduce a fourth permission. Manually enroll. We'll be releasing a new publish permission in the near future.
This matters because with manually enrolled permission, more users like sales reps or customer support will be able to make use of automation during their day to day. Whether it's from the CRM record or list page, these granular permission controls provide better governance over your automation processes. You guys covered this on Friday and by the time I was reviewing this yesterday, this had changed. The publish part got kind of backpedaled it seems on Friday it read enroll.
And publish and then it was super awkward to read through it because the publish wasn't available yet.
Ah yeah.
So. So I'm telling you got a lot of fans inside the inside the building that are going to act on these these friction full descriptions pretty quickly apparently. But yeah, this is exciting. One question I'm wondering if there will be safeguards against re clicking because we think it hasn't been enrolled. Oh you know like sometimes we have to refresh and Sometimes it takes 1, 2, 3 minutes and we're refreshing the page. Well, so not everybody likes refreshing the page so they might just click the button again.
Well, so. Well a couple things. One that will only matter 33.333% of the time, totally fixed statistic. If they can only be enrolled in the workflow once, it won't matter if they click it. If you have re enroll on the workflow, then it would matter. But even the way that HubSpot works when you're actually adding them to a workflow, I don't know if it's possible right now to hit the button twice or not. But again, the statistics. If I'm building something like for where this might get used for manual enrollment, I don't necessarily know if I'm gonna have re enrollment on it that often. At least that's where my small brain goes right now in the moment. Somebody's gonna email me and be like, you're stupid and tell me why that's not true. But it is what it is. I'll. I have thick skin. You can email me and conversation.
Yeah, no, I'm sure it will be fine. Just something to consider, I think as you're enabling your users who might not be used to managing automation. Yes. Scheduled for release. Let's hit that. See what's going on this week. We've got default email in Help desk. Got Manage Video Captions in Social Editor. If you have not seen that yet, check it out on Wednesday. Google Google performance Max ad creation and enhanced reporting.
Casey knows all about that. Hit her up.
On Thursday. We've got apply activity logging defaults to external emails, Instagram, direct messaging in social inbox.
Nice.
We've got everybody's light color theme.
So we need to think. We, we. We need to take a poll. Somebody needs to go to LinkedIn and do a poll. A simple love it or hate it. Because I'm super curious of what the community thinks of this light color theme. I don't want to be the guy, but somebody needs to be the guy or gal to do a public poll.
Because yeah, yeah, it is very curious. When everybody else is providing dark themes, you get a light color theme.
Yeah.
You know, the more I think about it, we're seeing a lot of promotional material for Inbound that is this color. So maybe this is their way of sharing a branding update. Maybe calling it a light color theme.
Well, instead of light color theme, it should be the inbound theme then. Because it's not really even like a light. Like.
Yeah, I know. I don't get it. That's.
Yeah, I don't know. Anyway, somebody do a poll. Please tag me in it. We can have fun with the conversation.
And then we've got our favorite acronym filled update. Custom SCIM integration.
Yes.
Can we just Friday.
No, never mind.
That's probably just in time for inbound.
I think it's funny my. When I've been using AI to pick help me pick the top 5 updates to feature each day. It keeps trying to push that one in. There's a. There's a sunset that's not on this list, though, that I care passionately about. Oh, I don't even know.
Yeah.
If you go sunset, will it show?
It's not, but I guess sometimes I feel like the sunsets do show up. I don't understand it. I don't understand it.
I'm guessing it's scoring.
It is.
So if you search scoring or score, this is sunsets.
Super interesting that it is not on the sunset list.
Like type score and see. No, no. I mean in sunset. Not in all, but in the search. In the search bar.
Oh, my God.
There. Yeah. Type score. Yeah. Okay. See? Yep. Not there. Wow.
All right. Hey, everyone. My name is Casey.
Casey's, like, blowing up the show. Now do score and see. Wow.
It's really the score property. So I don't even know if it would be lead score. I don't know.
So score property. Search score property and see.
The lead score is the new thing. The four properties, the old thing, I get it mixed up in my head all the time.
I mean, they've been known to.
Here's the thing. I don't need a card listener.
I'm just saying they've been known to move sunset dates when absolutely necessary. So that would be good information to share if that's actually what's happening here, because that would be a big deal.
Yeah. Interesting. Because if you type in score property, nothing comes up. That's super interesting.
Yeah. Now, this happened last year with QuickBooks integration. It was still originally sunset for May and got pushed to October because it wasn't ready to be sunset.
So I pulled up a score property, and it's still showing the warning in the score property and the dates. It still says October or it says August. August 31, 2025. Existing properties will no longer update. My understanding is that if you have a score property built, it will stop coming calculating. So whatever that score is for that, whatever object you have the score on on August 31, that will be the score for the rest of time. So there will be no new score, no added, no scoring removed. Like, it's. It won't work. I mean, is my understanding.
Yeah.
At that point.
Interesting.
Yep. So if there's any product managers checking us out, give us. Give us a holler, Let us know what the. What the details are. Because it would not surprise me as this might be one of the most impactful sunsets ever. So. Well, Casey has done her best to make sure everybody is ready. I'm sure there are people out there who are not ready.
Well, I was live before the show walking through the new tool. I have at least two more lives that I'll do today and then tomorrow, two hours open session. DM me if you want to come, any questions you have, if you want to rebuild your score alongside of me. I'll be, I'll be. I'll be there for two hours. Just hanging out.
Yeah. So if you're on the HubSpot side and you you've been getting all these calls about people not being happy about sunset and you wish there was another way besides moving the sunset, maybe direct them towards some of Casey's content to get some help to do things in a better way. While it's the most impactful sunset because everybody uses it, it's one of the best intentions that I've seen. I think so. Hopefully people are starting to move over to the new scoring properties. Since George mentioned it, I'm gonna try to make good on on his lead in after mentioning value first Data summit Join us on Thursday completely free. Sign up even for join us for like 15, 30 minutes. We've got a great, great set of roundtables, a bunch of people talking and sharing about sharing a lot of value related to getting your data right focused on data readiness and signals and scores as a couple of themes throughout the event. And even if you can't join us live, register and get access to everything will be on demand and available after which you'll probably get to after inbound if we're being honest. But then we've also got if I can do this right, we've got the HubSpot helpline on Friday streaming live from the profoundly page call in 3pm Eastern. Yep. Call us. Give us a call. The number is in this post. 857-575-6-9526. There you go. It was great having Kyle back last week. You know, favor.
Can you edit this post?
I can.
Can you make the first thing above ever wish you could call or maybe right after Ever wish you could call someone and have the phone number right after that line so they see it when they're scrolling instead of having to.
Like read more instead of burying it.
Yeah. Put that phone number at the top, man. I want them to call in.
Yeah, yeah.
Chris. Chris are our a regular marketer.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was good having Kyle back last week. Yeah. We, we kind of selfishly took that opportunity to get his take on what he's doing for Inbound and the challenges that. That he's realizing in this world that's moving so fast. And he's been gone for two months.
Yeah.
But it was super insightful to hear how he thinks about, like, what people need versus what they want and how he splits it up into three talks. And it was a good, good session.
I can only imagine. First of all, he's amazing. Second of all, I can only imagine the coinkiting that he's in right now because I literally, like, last week I missed a day and was like, what the. What. What the. What that happened on that day? Like, he's been gone for, like, days, like, so I just can't even imagine. But I'm sure. I'm sure he'll kill it. He is definitely one of the rooms that I want to be in at one point in time if I can still get in and. And do it, but if it doesn't collide with my talk and stuff. But yeah. So, yep.

So, yep. I think he said he came back to, like, 150 update emails.
Yeah.
In two months.
Yeah. Some of them, he said, were duplicates, you know, because they repeat. So. But still think about that.
Yeah.
150 emails just on HubSpot updates. It's.
It's crazy. It's gross. That's why we're here every day, so we never have to do 150 at once. Lord, remember folks, you probably already own the solution you're looking for in HubSpot. Sometimes you just need to wake up to it. Join us tomorrow morning live at 7:30am Central or catch us anytime on Spotify and Apple Music. Drop your biggest takeaway in the comments and let us know what capabilities you want to wake up to next. Till then, I'm Chris Carolyn.
