HubSpot Projects - CRM Development Tools, HubSpot Customization and Extensibility

A developer walks through HubSpot Projects, the tool for building and deploying private apps directly in HubSpot. It covers customization, integration, and how to use GitHub collaboration to extend your CRM.
Now more than ever, it's critical to be able to connect your systems and data and customize your CRM to meet your business's unique needs. Connected and customizable systems allow you to access all of your most important data in one place and present the most relevant information to the right users at the right time. But creating connected and customized CRM experiences can be expensive and time consuming. Developers who create custom solutions have to spend a significant amount of time and energy reading through documentation, designing and implementing code, accounting for app security, and choosing the right hosting solution. What if there was an easier way? Well, with HubSpot Projects, now there is. HubSpot Projects is a code container for private apps that allows developers to set up a build and Deploy pipeline within HubSpot for a more streamlined experience. And with projects, all of your code is hosted on HubSpot. Using projects, you can package, build and deploy your private apps to HubSpot locally using the CLI with private apps, customize HubSpot with extensions like custom CRM cards that appear on record pages in the middle pane also leverage the power of serverless functions to interact with data both within and outside of HubSpot. To get started with projects using the CLI, run the command hsproject create and follow the prompts to use the Getting Started template. This template demonstrates the basic structure of a project, which includes an hsproject JSON configuration file, a source directory that contains an app folder to store private app components. This one contains the code for a custom CRM card, and an app JSON file in the App folder to configure the private app. To deploy this project to a connected HubSpot account, simply navigate to the Project folder and run the command hsproject upload, which will deploy your project automatically. To view your deployed projects and your HubSpot account in the main navigation, click on CRM Development and then in the left sidebar, click on Projects. Here, click on your project to view more deployment and activity details. You can also click on Settings to link your project to a GitHub repository. HubSpot's native GitHub integration allows teams of all sizes to collaborate on and auto deploy projects by committing to a linked branch with Projects. Save time, money, and resources as you customize and connect HubSpot with other systems and with your code completely hosted on HubSpot, no more worrying about hosting or security.
