HubSpot added a column feature that lets you see associated custom objects directly in your CRM, showing linked names and record counts without workarounds. Two speakers walk through how it works and why it saves time managing related data.
Hey, friends, over the last several months, a few of you have reached out and asked me, like, why is there no associate like column that shows associated custom objects? You know, like you can see, if you're looking at your contacts, you can see associated companies. Why can't we do that for custom objects? And I've come up with this workaround where you create like a calculation property that counts how many records there are, so you can see that much at least, but it doesn't link out to them and it's not super helpful.
And.
And it's the best we could do until now.
Where we have just standard out of the box.
Ready to go. Associated custom object column thing.
Check it out.
Here we go.
So here is.
My workaround column, which blah. We want to see number of pets. That's fine. This person has four, this person one, this person has zero. Not super helpful.
But if we edit.
These columns and if we just get rid of that. Who needs that? Look, if we just search for associated.
Look, all of.
All of them. All. They're all here. All my custom objects and tickets and deals and companies. And look, if we replace my wonky number of associated pets thing with associated pets, look, we apply this.
And look how much better this is.
We're seeing names, they are links. And look, if there's a lot of them, it says how many there are. And if I click on it, I can see the individual pets here and click on them to go to them.
This is so much better than what.
We'Ve all been doing. And I'm now going to join the ranks of you who see a video like this and have to undo a workaround you put in place. But it's all good news. Let me know what you think. Let me know if you have any questions.
