A talk on using humor to build better company culture. The speaker offers reflective questions to help organizations figure out how much lightheartedness they have at work, and whether it's actually reducing stress and boosting engagement.
Because when people feel part of something bigger and can approach it joyfully, they're more driven and inspired. But here's the thing I have to get to this point and ask how do you know if you live in this world or not? And so, again, here are some reflective questions where you can start to ask yourself, diagnose and think about does our company culture leverage humor? Do our company events and interactions naturally include moments of laughter that make people feel connected? Or does everything feel strictly business when challenges arise? Can we use humor to ease tension and stay united? Or do we get bogged down in stress and negativity? Are there shared rituals and habits or traditions that encourage humor and lightheartedness across teams, helping to foster or build a sense of belonging and joy? Again, how you answer those is really going to determine on how you kind of can move forward from the insights to take action.
