Let's Talk About AI Today

Nico, George B. Thomas, and Josephine discuss recent AI developments from Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic, including AI-powered CRM tools and agent workflows that are reshaping how businesses operate.
Good morning, LinkedIn, friends, HubSpot Nation. Welcome to another episode of let's Build AI Skills with Nico, George and Chris, happy Friday, May 23, 2025. We are already at Memorial Day weekend. How you fellas doing today?
Good. Yeah, doing good. It's another day. I woke up any day, by the way, you get to an age, no matter how fast the world is moving, no matter how much AI changes, no matter like how ticked off you were the night before when you went to bed, that you wake up and you go, all right, let's do this. Because you get another day.
Yeah, that's about all we can do. Glad to see you survived yesterday, Nico. Yes, we got some new, new rig, a decade old, man. I don't know how you got away with that one.
Yeah, I don't. I. It's actually. Yeah, just over. It's actually 15 for sure. 15 years old.
Wow.
PC rig. That's 15. Now it's bravo.
Now it lays there.
That's never happening again, by the way.
You know, the world is quite different back in my day, all right, A pretty simple, like, MOBO setup where you can just plug and play stuff into it. And then you were good. And I went to, like, look at doing that to mine and it was like, no, your parts are. I can't put this on your chassis or whatever. Like, it wasn't really the parts, it was more so the fact that the case is like, all the cases now are built for a completely different type of computer, essentially. And I didn't realize that. I didn't realize I'd have to go buy some, like, super old ATX games. So, yeah, was quite shocked and blown away. And then there. There were definitely component issues that can't really get past.
So for those who don't know, Nico lost his PC yesterday, but was able to come back in full effect. Probably a great opportunity to prepare for AI performance.
Yes, right. Definitely bought a rig.
That was good to see you, Josephine. Thanks for joining us today. Um, but yeah, back in my day, one month ago, felt like one month ago. Meanwhile, we can barely remember what happened last week. And that's what we're going to do our best to. To put in perspective for you today, because I think you're going to come back to what George just said and realize the only thing you have control over is waking up every day and going out, going about your business, doing stuff that's important to you, doing stuff that's important to the people around you, trying to create value. Don't. Certainly don't try to control it because it's going to be a rough ride for you. And just to put it in perspective, before this week, our last three weeks before that, I introduced Unboxed Tango AI, right. And everybody got excited about a CRM AI administrator that you could plug in and do all your processes for you. Right. Then the next week we unboxed HubSpot MCP with Claude where you don't even have to go into the CRM and you can manage it from your, from your LLM interface. And then last week, me and Nico were just sat back in awe while Aaron Wiggers showed us this agentic workflow where she. All of the admin, like project management, HubSpot, all these other systems that we're used to having to log into, she could go from call with the client basically to next call with the client without having to do any of the stuff in the middle herself.
Nothing.
Right. And it gets us to this concept of digital twin digital clone, digital, digital, digital. You behind the scenes so that you can show up. It doesn't mean Aaron like is no longer involved or replaced in any way in the way she was describing it. She got 40. She's getting 40 hours back per week to do the deep work, to do the fun stuff, to do the valuable stuff.
Right. Yeah.
And that was three weeks. That was a span of three weeks before this week. And we got a little bit of a. We've been getting a little bit of a taste of what's happening. The stream of consciousness, let's say, has been dripping out, including in HubSpot where we saw that Breeze Copilot is being rebuilt this summer.
Yes, sir.
With the latest and greatest AI tools. Right. And I, I was keying in on that because we're seeing Everybody go to V2, V3. Everybody's just taking a leap forward. And that happened this week with all these drops. I'll let Nico break it down, but that's where you can just see if you can't feel it yet. It's this convergence and it's. Everybody building on the same foundation is something we've never seen before. Right. And that's what's allowing for this speed is that literally it's. I don't know if anybody's building products that's not benefiting from the foundation being created by everybody else right now. So quick, quick summary of the week.
Nico, quick summary of the week.
That's an oxymoron. Quick week.
Anyway, trying, trying. So yeah, quick summary of the week. Google I O conference, Microsoft conference. OpenAI conference, even though they didn't. That didn't want to necessarily label it as that. So not model releases, massive feature releases, agent related from Microsoft, massive feature releases related to software from Google, and then the most massive model release of like so far this year from Anthropic. So like Microsoft, we got these new agent tools, this kit of like 50 plus different agent tools, which is, if you've been playing around with mcp, you kind of understand like what's going on there. Microsoft is basically attempting to build out the zapier of agents, which is different than zapier. And because like, if you think about it, it's like zapier connects agents to other services. It's kind of like an MCP in that way. And it does allow you to connect to what it considers to be tools, which is essentially other apps. Whereas the Microsoft version of this is allowing the agents to connect to like actual tools like methodology, like things that people build in, like different methodologies, different calculative aspects of working on whatever projects. And then, then Google released like, I don't know about something like eight different like really massive features. And I think the, you know, obviously Notebook LM is on mobile now. It's all right. It's really great to have with you mobile, but it does not yet have all of the features that desktop does. And I'm not quite sure why, but it, it definitely is quite amazing.
Though.
We will probably walk through it later maybe. Google has absolutely changed the game when it comes to, I don't know what you want to call it, I guess when it just comes to research and development maybe. And I say that because yesterday, in order to prepare for today, I wanted to take a look at what the AI gold rush looks like. What does it look like over time from, from the release of, of GPT 35 till now. Like, you know, what does that travel look like and what have we been doing and how did I get this? If you can see in this top corner here, it says Gemini. Unfortunately, I think for everybody you should have this, should have this capability. And you can see that it's an infographic. And if I wanted to, I could go to its website companion that has pages built out with interactive elements on it where I can like look at things that it's built out and even change, like working configurations. How is that all possible? It's possible because Gemini included this, these new features, this new toolkit where once you've finished deep research, you can now create and you can create a webpage, you can create an infographic, you can create a quiz. So if you're trying to help your students or you're trying to help your kids, and your kids are deep researching a particular thing, you're in college and you're writing a thesis and you're trying, you're wanting to bone up on it so that you can speak intelligently to it when you're giving a presentation audio overview, you've done the research. You don't have the time to read through it because you're on the train to work or because you're commuting or whatever it is. So pop it into an audio audio overview and listen to it, or you don't listen.
