HubSpot added new tools to manage custom objects: you can now see which ones you're using, delete the ones you don't need, and edit object names without friction. The speaker walks through the beta features and asks for feedback.
Hey, friends. It's a big day for being able to manage your custom objects inside the ui. So those of you who are opted into the beta that lets you create custom objects and visualize the way they're connected to each other, you just got a few new features that I'm so excited about. Check this out. So here we are inside my custom object settings, and I have just a ton of custom objects, especially since this Create a custom object button came along. I'm always demoing it and creating new things like babies, and I'm just stuck with them, right? Because I'm not going to run API calls to delete them. But now there's this actions button, and look, I can see where the object is used and babies is used in zero places, which is good news. That means I can just go ahead and delete it. Why not? Yeah. Bye bye, babies. All gone. Awesome. And look at this. Look at this. There's more. If I want to edit this custom object, that's an option. Now, maybe I didn't want to call this cars, and maybe I decide what we really have is trucks. And look, I'm just going to edit this and call it Trucks. Truck and Trucks and save and done. Now it's trucks. That was so easy. And the thing I really love about this is if we look at pets, if we look at where this object is used, you can see pets is used in kind of a lot of places. So if I'm just like, I'm done with pets, away it goes. It's going to say, no, you got to do some cleanup first. Kyle, let's think about what's going to happen if you delete this. So this is now all live. It's now in that beta. So if you're opted into whatever that beta is called that lets you create custom objects and do the visualization stuff, you now have that actions menu with those three very powerful things that I know many of you have been waiting for for a long time. So check it out. Let me know what you think and let me know if you have any questions.
