Learn how to structure tasks and subtasks in ClickUp for faster workflows. The video uses a blog post example to show when to merge subtasks and when to use checklists instead, cutting down unnecessary complexity.
I would look at also your task structure and if all of the subtasks underneath, let's say a blog post are all like five minute bites, I think that's when you know that you've gone too granular and you can merge a lot of those tasks. I think the biggest things that you need within a workflow, let's just use the blog post example. Like the big things are going to be writing the copy. Someone needs to review it. Someone goes back and makes edits off of those review cycles, things like that. Also sending it to the client, getting it back from the client. When you just get the. Those main pillars of. You need to know when that piece of work is done. That's what you need as well as in your process. Let's say you have two subtasks in a row that are done by the same person. Often maybe they're both like 15 minutes apiece. Oftentimes you can just merge those two subtasks together and then use a checklist of those items. So then you'll just name the subtask differently and use the checklist to say, don't forget to do this and this.
