A talk on adopting an owner's mentality at work, moving beyond viewing your job as just a paycheck. The speaker, referencing George B. Thomas, argues this shift transforms how you engage with your work and build your professional brand.
When I got into this place where it was about building together a brand. George B. Thomas Marcus Sheridan. George B. Thomas Remington, Beg, Impulse, Creative. The sales line. Right when there were entities building brands together, there was an interesting switch that flipped in my brain. Right around the same time that I discovered HubSpot and started educating myself around HubSpot Academy and what you could do. That is I picked up owner's mentality. Even though I was an employee, I had an owner's mentality. And so I never thought it was a them and us conversation. It was just a us. We're all headed in a direction. Building brands. Marcus, George, the sales line. Remington, George, Impulse Creative. And so one of the things that I would tell people if you're truly trying to unlock the true hunger, the true hustle, the healthy hustle, is that having an owner's mentality is going to be part of the unlock. Because then it becomes less about clock in, clock out. It becomes less about work, more about play. It becomes more of like, a fruitful and enjoyable journey that you're like, I want more, but I want more because I have balance.
