This is a YouTube video titled "Parent-Child Company Association Calculations" containing a single-speaker presentation or tutorial from January 21, 2023. The speaker explains a new beta feature that allows users to create calculated properties between parent and child companies within a product, detailing how to opt into the beta and set up these calculations.
Hey friends, there is now a beta that lets you do calculated properties between parent and child companies. So check this out. Here I am on the product updates page. The beta you're going to want to opt yourself into for this one are parent child company association calculations. So you opt yourself into that and then what you can do is you go to your properties and you create a custom property for companies and you put it in a group and you give it a catchy name and you're going to select calculation. And so when you create a calculated property, you have a lot of different options. And if you're doing one of these, a min, max count, some average, whatever, let's, let's do account, right? You choose the associated record type. And historically, when you're making a company calculate property, you can't select company, but now you can. So this is going to look at associated child companies or parent companies. You can choose which way you want this to go, right? So if I want a count of how many child companies there are, for instance, I can do that and just choose like, I don't know the name or the ID or whatever we want to count here and then that'll work. This is now, like I said in beta, opt yourself out into it. Check it out. Let me know what you think and let me know if you have any questions.
