This is a YouTube video titled "Should my ClickUp Lists be categories?" containing a monologue or talk from November 7, 2022, discussing task organization strategies in ClickUp, specifically advocating for simpler list structures and personalized approaches to task management.
Fran is wondering why I recommend you have a simpler structure for your tasks in ClickUp. Why not just make all of the areas of your life different categories? Well, for a personal user, it may not really matter. You can do whatever works best for your brain. In fact, you should make ClickUp work for you and not the other way around. The reason I choose these four lists inside one folder or thereabouts is because I find that these four categories capture anything life can throw at it. I don't like to be in a position where I I have a list for home, a list for dog, a list for health, and then all of a sudden I have yard work to do and I'm not sure which list it goes into, so I need to make yet another list. So for me, I like fewer lists and more custom fields that I can sort by and use views for the thing that you're trying to accomplish, Fran. But when it comes to personal use, it's about what's working for your brain. So there's not a, you know, fixed right or wrong answer here. It's personal pretty.
