This is a YouTube video titled "Smart founder-led growth (shouldn't last forever)." It features a monologue or talk by a single speaker discussing strategies for building a company brand and network through deliberate personal outreach and gradual team expansion. The speaker shares personal experiences about growing their network and business over time.
The company brand, how do you make sure that it stands out? I once had to make Galactica tied with my brand as much as possible. I spent so much time of the year flying from New York to London to wherever. I would meet with random people that I kind of knew, but I just asked them, hey, who are, like, the two smartest and coolest and most interesting people? You know, someone that you'd be down to, introduce me to. And then I'd be like, okay, well, I'm in Barcelona for a little bit longer. I'm going to go meet up with that person. And at the end of that conversation, I would ask that person for two more people. I really built my own network and connections in that way, in a very deliberate way. What I'm trying to say is, you have to put in the groundwork. You have to put in that time. You don't have to be this guru type of person who knew a ton of people. Like, I wasn't. But I really worked hard to build my network and build the people I knew. And then eventually that allowed us to bring in enough money over time from the clients that we were able to bring in to where I could begin to chip away at those blocks. I could begin to hire the first salesperson. I could hire the first person to focus on our outbound marketing. And the flywheel started to grow from there.
