This is a YouTube video titled "Stop using ❌ Loom videos ❌ to record business procedures" created in February 2024. The content is a monologue or presentation advising business owners against relying on Loom videos for documenting processes, emphasizing the importance of creating written SOPs for efficiency and ease of updates.
If you want to start systemizing your business, stop relying on loom videos. I would never record my processes as videos because I don't want to take the time to rerecord that 20 minute video when something in the process changes. At the same time, I don't want to pay my staff to spend 20 minutes watching a 20 minute video just to get a process done. It's a waste of their time and it's a waste of my time. Fact is, you're going to be creating your SOP once, but hopefully referencing it thousands of times. So stop prioritizing what's easy right now and focus on putting your SOPs in a format that's easy every single time you need to use and update them, which you'll be doing forever into the future. Use video as an intermediary step. You can record it, sure, but the only reason you record it is to then turn that loom video into some kind of written document. Screenshots and text.
