This is a YouTube video titled "Suddenly, there was a Zen in our culture." containing a monologue or talk from June 12, 2024, discussing workplace productivity and culture improvements through better task management and dependencies. The excerpt features a single speaker explaining how having clear task readiness and templates brought a sense of calm and efficiency to their work environment.
Hey, it says it's not ready for me so I can keep working on the things that are ready for me. No one is interrupted in the middle of a project because they have what they need to do for the week. They don't have what they're likely going to do for the next month. Glooming at them in the face. They have a view that says, hey, today, this is all you got. And then suddenly, if something comes up that's ready for them, it pops up on their dashboard at, hey, ready for you to work. That Zen comes into play again, where people feel comfortable knowing that things are ready for them when they are ready for them. So having templates connected and having all of those pieces, you have all of your dependencies on, hey, this can't start until this happens. Was game changing. And suddenly there was also a Zen in our culture because it wasn't people shouting, hey, we need this, we need this, we need this all the time. We just didn't realize that simple idea was missing this whole time.
