This is a YouTube video titled "The false choice in building great company culture" containing a monologue or talk recorded on December 25, 2023, discussing the importance of fostering a company culture where all stakeholders—employees, customers, and investors—are valued equally and emphasizing the role of trust and caring in productive workplace environments.
Great cultures are so much more productive. Great cultures are so much better at having hard conversations and talking about stuff that's difficult to talk because they care. The more you care, the more inclined you are to have that tough conversation, because there's always a tough conversation, you know, around the corner. It's impossible for there not to be because it's a competitive world. And so the humanity is really about creating an environment where people genuinely care for one another. They care about the company, they care about all the ideals, care about their customers. One of the things that I think is an extremely bad, false choice is, you know, your employees are more important than your customers, or your customers are more important than your employees or your investors. Right? That's just all wrong. That's a false choice. You need to have high trust relationships with all of your stakeholders, and you focus on that.
