Pat from HubSpot's Automation Execution team shows how to use associated object properties in workflows to send Slack alerts with customer data after payment. The new data panel feature lets you pull information from related objects, making customer onboarding automation faster and more useful for teams.
Hi, I'm Pat, a senior engineer from the Automation Execution Front end team. Today I'm going to show you how customers can use the new data panel to empower their teams to do their best work by ensuring they have all the data they need when they need it. We'll use our new feature to build a workflow that supports a new customer kickoff process between Greenlee, Sales and Success teams. This workflow will trigger when a new customer makes a successful payment and it will send a Slack alert to the customer success team with all the details they need to get started with the onboarding process. On the right, we have all the properties of the enrolled object so such as the amount paid. We also have access to other objects via adding data source such as associate company. We can even add objects like the associated subscription. So our notification now we can enter the customer's name or the company name and the name of the subscription that was purchased. Now that our alert's set up, let's go ahead and test it out. With this new workflow update, Greenly can create reliable, seamless handoffs between the teams across their flywheel. And in those handoffs, they can include a robust summary of data that ensures each team member can complete tasks quickly and efficiently so that their customers can have a delightful experience. Bye bye.
