This is a YouTube video titled "Vocabulary for Process Mapping" containing a monologue or instructional talk explaining the basic shapes used in process mapping, such as circles, rectangles, diamonds, and arrows, to help viewers understand how to map processes effectively. The content is educational and focuses on process mapping symbols.
In terms of the shapes we need to understand to start process mapping our heart's desire and feeling more in control of what we're offering. We've got four shapes, well, really three shapes and an arrow. The first one we need to learn is this guy right here. A circle means something is beginning or ending. In other words, it's like a bookend. It's finishing off what we are working on in the process map session. The second object we need to know is a square or a rectangle. In this case is a stack. Step, action or activity or something is happening. I want you to also remember that this is a small rectangle and if you are going to write a step, it should be one step per rectangle. The third symbol we need to learn today is the diamond symbol. This diamond is a decision symbol which is telling us that we need to choose a fork in the road and we now have a choice as to which route we're going to go. We have the arrows. This arrow is just telling us which direction we're going so you don't get lost.
