This is a YouTube video titled "We were constantly in the waiting game." containing a monologue or talk from June 17, 2024, discussing workflow challenges faced by a creative team, specifically about waiting for information and managing task readiness through dashboards and views to improve productivity.
Each individual would see the next month, two months, three months of work they were going to get into if all went well. And they never knew unless they got a ping that it was time for them to edit something or time for them to create something. I'm going to use our creative team as a very specific example. They were constantly in the waiting game of, I can't start on this because I don't have enough information. And so it was a constant check in every day throughout the day. Are you ready for me? And then when they finally were, it felt like, all right, we need to get this done fast. And so everyone would be in the middle of doing something, and their attention would be, oh, no. I have this thing that I have to attend to right now because they messaged me. This goes into how we've created views and dashboards to filter out things that are not ready. And I help work with all of them to have dashboards and views that say, hey, these are the things for today and this week that are ready for you now.
