This is a YouTube video titled "We're not quick to just hire a bunch in." containing a monologue or speech from May 22, 2024, discussing challenges related to rapid community growth, resource allocation, and intentional hiring practices. The content features a single speaker reflecting on managing unexpected increases in workload and maintaining company culture.
Suddenly we had 20 communities, 50 communities, 60 communities. We would have to onboard major projects happening. And it was like, how are we supposed to allocate this and get this out and move this, all of this happening simultaneously. It literally was what you would imagine a fire drill would be. But we had to take a minute and be like, how are we supposed to allocate this? What are we supposed to do? What do we do with timelines? How are we supposed to handle this all at once? We felt like we had a good amount, suddenly we have a great amount and it's growing and it's beautiful and we will continue to grow. But we are very intentional about who is in our company. So we're not quick to, hey, let's just hire a bunch in. So with whoever we had on board, how could we turn the unexpected from a fire drill into, well, it's a good thing that we have this in place if something happens. So whether it's lottery proofing it, people are out, or something is coming in that we didn't expect that we have to make room for without being able to expand our building.
