I'm a business owner who's reduced the number of tasks my team is doing by 20% just by removing one day a week now. No, we're not moving to four day work weeks. Instead we're just not scheduling tasks on Fridays. I shared more about this on my LinkedIn post above. Go check it out if you want. The way we're making this happen for our tiny team is by making a rule that no tasks can be scheduled on Fridays. This is in addition to no meetings on Mondays or Fridays. But this means that every task that was previously due on Friday got moved to the previous week and everything kind of got reshifted around. Friday now is used as a catch up day. A day to work on quick wins, to fix issues, to work on something creative or because we have a flexible schedule, maybe taking some time off.
