This is a YouTube video titled "What I Wish I Knew BEFORE I was a CEO" containing a personal monologue from May 24, 2023, where the speaker shares five key business lessons learned over five years of running a company, reflecting on topics such as hiring, profit, problem-solving, sales, and the nature of business owners.
Five years ago I started this business and here are some things I wish I'd known back then. Number one Small teams do hire great employees. If I had known that, I honestly never would have started this business. 2. More profit isn't Always better I used to think that the point of business was just to incur profit. And yeah, it can be. But sometimes holding on to profit is actually the worst thing you can do when you should really be investing more in your team and your resources in whatever. 3. If you're thinking about something or talking about something, frequently there's a problem. The fact that it's coming up again and again means it's not resolved and you need to at least bring it up to the air, figure out what's going on so it can finally just settle down into existence. 4. Is that sales is not a slimy word. Sales is just the practice of connecting somebody with a solution to their problem and there's an exchange of something for it. 5. Business owners are just people with a great work ethic and stomach for risk. Not infallible. They're not perfect. They're just people who are trying to do it. What lessons have you learned in your business journey? Let me know in the comments.
