This is a YouTube video titled "What is scope creep? #shorts" containing a discussion about the concept of scope creep in client-agency relationships. The excerpt features a dialogue primarily between two speakers, Carl and another unidentified speaker, explaining how scope creep manifests and its implications. The content is educational and focuses on managing client expectations.
What is scope creep? How do we define it? How does it manifest? And what are the some of the obvious and not so obvious ways that it manifests? And I thought Carl might start this.
One Scope creep is ultimately when a client expects more from your agency or firm than they have paid for. And it can happen in a few different ways, but ultimately they are expecting or even demanding free stuff. And that could manifest a few ways. It could be additional functionality. It could be expanded functionality to what you're doing. They could be.
Expecting faster.
Turnaround than they've paid for. Basically, it's a client expecting something extra that usually is not in your agency's interest to provide. Scope creep is normal, right? It means clients want more of your help. It becomes a problem when it is out of control.
Scope creep.
When clients expect more, more, more and aren't willing to pay for it. The good news is there are a lot of things you can do to redirect and take control of the situation.
