This is a YouTube video titled "Why didn't they like you?" containing a monologue or single-speaker discussion recorded on June 6, 2024. The speaker shares advice on how to ask about past performance ratings from previous managers to encourage honest conversations and self-reflection.
When I speak to your two last managers, how will they rate your performance on a scale 1 to 10? So that's always a helpful question to ask. You're setting the stage for people to be more honest. That has been helpful to then open up a conversation about, you know, this one would rate me as a 10 out of 10 because XYZ. This one would rate me as a 6 out of 10 because they didn't like me. Why didn't you like. You know, it's just a conversation starter.
