Your FIRST hour in SmartSuite for Task Management (Beginner Setup Tutorial)

This is a YouTube video titled "Your FIRST hour in SmartSuite for Task Management (Beginner Setup Tutorial)" created on February 2, 2023. It is a beginner tutorial focused on setting up task management in SmartSuite, likely providing step-by-step guidance for new users.
Hour. We'll be starting here shortly. Get yourself comfortable. We will be starting on the hour with this work through. Leave your questions, introduce yourself in the chat while we all get ready to get started. Started while we wait. Help us out here and let me know if you can see and hear okay on whatever platform it is that you are joining us from. Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube. Make sure that it's working on all angles because we know how fun technology can be. Also, while you're there, let me know that the chat's working by dropping a little comment, saying hello, letting me know what you are hoping to learn today. Your questions, your suggestions are definitely going to be a resource to help us know what we can actually cover. Ah, thank you, Eric. This is why we do these tests. Anyone else? Just make sure you're all able to see and hear okay as we get started. Hopefully it'll sound a little bit less like an echo chamber. We'll be getting started on the hour. Eric's the MVP in the house. See, we're starting right away highlighting some of these chats. Yay, Eric. If you don't already have your SmartSuite account open, definitely get that open. Get ready to get started. If you don't have a SmartSuite account yet, we will drop a link in the chat for where you can sign right up and we'll be able to dig into this together. So far it looks like our LinkedIn and Facebook folks are kind of, you know, leaving us hanging here. If you're joining us here on LinkedIn or Facebook, go ahead and drop in the comments. Let us know that you're able to join us today. Otherwise, you know, Mario and the crew over on YouTube, Abby, Eric, Zidanek. I'm hoping I'm getting that name close to right. Probably not, but YouTube, you are showing up and we appreciate you. We'll be starting here on the hour. Sam, I see we've got some awesome questions already coming in. Thank you, Adrian. Carly will make sure that we get those answered. As we get into the Q and A portion of today, avi's sharing that LinkedIn might be a little slower. Nah, LinkedIn's just classy. You know, they show up fashionably late, but when they're here, they're the life of the party. Thanks for representing avi and giving LinkedIn a little love there, Maren. Good to see you guys. We'll be starting here in about two minutes. Get your SmartSuite accounts ready, get ready as we dig in and have some fun together today. Sam. Oh, we've got one of our smart, sweet Sherpas in the house. Just kidding. Hey, Adrienne, Good to see you here. Maren. Thanks for the introduction, guys. Follow the trend here and let me know where you're joining us from as we get started. Understanding your Skill level with SmartSuite will help me dial this up, dial this down based on your preferences and interest. But with that, I think we're just about ready to get started. Hello. Hello, guys, and welcome to our first live stream of this series. Hopefully everything's working out okay audio, visual wise, knock on wood. I'm really excited here today to experiment with a new style of content on the channel when we haven't done in a consistent format yet, and take you guys through kind of a Build with Me session today. So, so what we're going to be doing is going through kind of like the 101 on that shiny new tool you all know of, which is SmartSuite, right? So I think, you know, go back a few months ago, SmartSuite was pretty new on the channel. And since then, you guys have been asking again, again, you know, how do we navigate this? How do we do that? And so throughout this entire month, as Carly pointed out earlier in the chat, I'll be doing some live streams, going through the actual build out of a brand new SmartSuite account. Part one, part two, part three, through CRMs reporting, and today, how to get your account set up. Now, because this is a live stream and I'm socially awkward, I would appreciate your assistance as we go through today. If you have questions come up, if you want me to cover something that we're just kind of glossing over, utilize that chat. Let me know that you are here. Let me know what's on your mind, and don't be shy. Okay, so I'm going to just go ahead and take us inside our presentation kickoff for today and let's get started inside of SmartSuite. For this particular live stream, I figured it would only be fitting to go ahead and use SmartSuite as our live stream setup as our agenda for today. And so what we're going to be covering in this kind of casual stream, I mean, as casual as this process geek can be, are the following topics. First up, welcome. I think I can successfully say that we finished that one, so we'll just move on from there. And then next up, I'm going to just go over some of the agenda items. We're going to start off with talking about what is task management. Because even though this is indeed A smartsuite tutorial. Y' all know I'm a process geek. So if we're going to build out our SmartSuite account and build a task management structure, just like the basics, we'll go into more detail in future streams. I want to make sure we have a shared understanding of what outcome we're trying to achieve. After that, once we get into that reality, we're going to be going into actually creating our workspace, going through settings, personal settings, giving you that beginner tour that you might want a refresher on, sprinkling in some pro tips along the way. And then we're going to build out just the bare bones of a task management hub or a task management structure. This is going to be our primer for our next live stream next week, where we're going to be taking that overall task management area and doing some capacity management improvements to allow us to actually predict and forecast and better, better systemize our capacity management. So does that sound good? You guys still with me? Let me know in the chat any. Anything that you're like, whoa, that's crazy, or, man, I wish you'd cover this. Let me know in the chat as a quick pulse check. But otherwise we're just going to get started at the very top, which, what the heck are we talking about with task management? So for this one, I wanted to go into our little favorite live streaming whiteboard, which is whimsical if anyone wants to geek out about that one. And for the purposes of today and next week, when we're talking about task management, I am referring to zooming out really far. That's apparently what I'm referring to. I'm referring to having the ability to understand what you need to do, what you're working on, and what's coming up next. It's kind of those four key stages. And so when we're talking about creating our task management structure, all we're doing is creating a container for where that magic can happen. So let me try to show you this screen again, see if it'll behave. Here we go. So these are kind of the major four pieces and yes, whimsical. Great, right? So we could go from here's something we could do. Here's something I need to do. Here's what I'm doing today, tomorrow, next week, kind of zoomed in tactical and oh, wow, look at how amazing I am and how much I have done. As we go into future sessions, we'll be talking about the finer points in each of these components that'll Be next week Again, save the date, but I want to first introduce why we are starting with this. For a tool like SmartSuite, which isn't really a task manager. Yeah, it can do it. It can do it great. But SmartSuite is kind of a task manager plus it can do so much more. And that's why we describe it as a work management software here on the channel. The reason we are starting with task management today is because in my experience working with teams most often when we are getting started with the work management software, getting our basic work done is like the entry point. It's what gets us hooked. It's the biggest pain usually. And if we can get that down, if we can get our what do I need to do when down, then we can build on that foundation. Some puns going here to actually start organizing our data, our SOPs, our capacity forecasting and so much more. But if we can't figure out what we need to do, there is no point having fancy shiny features or some of the amazing automations in SmartSuite because we won't gram here. This is just my own perspective. I'm sure there's a much more sophisticated way to describe this potential. But just know as we go through here, SmartSuite has the potential to work in various other areas as well. And once we master task management, we can move in to process management, we can move in to being an airtable or database replacement. But we are going to be starting in this little basic. So circle here and just know that this is the starting point and not the only point. Don't. I don't want you guys to walk away from this thinking oh my gosh, SmartSuite is so easy and simple, which it is, but it's also incredibly powerful when we add those other rings. So kind of like that fitness app on Apple where you get the rings you have to complete. Maybe that's just me. Okay, anyway, back to this. That's task management in a nutshell and that's kind of the scope we're covering today. Moving on, I want to share a quick pro tip that we will now be going into SmartSuite and setting up our brand new account. So if you do not already have an account, do your wallet a favor and use our affiliate link. Normally an affiliate link is a way to support this channel, which it absolutely is. But in this particular case, Avi, John and the team over at SmartSuite have done that a solid for the community here. And if you use our affiliate link and you contact smartsuite Maybe say something nice about them. You don't have to just contact SmartSuite. They will give you an additional 10% discount on your account. That is not a publicly listed offer. That's not something you can get anywhere else for this kind of deal. So I'm telling you guys here as the inside insiders, use our affiliate link, get your account signed up and then contact them. And not only can you share your feedback and get to know their team a little bit, but you can get 10% off your SmartSuite account. So this is really tiny, but it's there. And thank you, Carly, for grabbing that in the chat. Very simple stuff, but we will get started now. So when it comes time to create your SmartSuite account using your wonderful link, we will be going in to the homepage, the homepage of SmartSuite and creating our account. Let's go over here. This is the homepage of SmartSuite. I don't think I need to show you how to navigate this, but just go to the sign up for free using our affiliate link and you can get yourself started. If you are someone like myself that already has a SmartSuite account of some kind, you can just head into your homepage and to follow along with this tutorial, you can create a new workspace using this little dropdown here. Additionally, if you already have a workspace, you don't need another one. You can also follow along by going up into the settings of your particular account. 10%. That's more like smart. Sheesh. Yes. These are the things that we need to know as a society here. Okay, so we will be going to kick ourselves off here by creating our new workspace. In this case, I'm going to be going in to our demo account. This is where we're going to be getting everything set up. I have not done anything in this account. It is brand new and it's coming with all the default settings. This should be exactly where you would meet me if you are starting your own SmartSuite workspace. Things to keep in mind about SmartSuite right off the bat as we're getting started here. Is that what I just created and what you all created by signing up on the homepage is a new workspace. Now, this term means different things in different platforms and it can be a little confusing. While we often think of workspace in the analog world as your desk, your office inside of SmartSuite workspace is referring to your overall entity or organization. Most often, as you see in the example here, your workspace will be Your company name or your. Or your. I was going to say organization again. You know what I mean? If you are someone that is a hustler, right, You've got a lot of different things going on and you're using SmartSuite for more of a personal use case or hobby use case, then this may just be your name and that's okay too. We can rename this later. Once you have your account set up though, we want to start reviewing the main settings and navigation area. So right up at the very top of our page, let's just review some of the good stuff we've got going on here. And let's get rid of that little nosy logo there so that you can actually see more of the details. Perfect. Okay, so once we are in this account, we have our smiling face up in the top left corner. This is our profile that we are seeing here to know who the heck we are relative to this workspace. Right. To the right we have our workspace switcher where we can flip between the different workspaces we have available to us. We have a little greeting, colors and settings that we can adjust here. And up at the very top we have our main navigation bar. In the center is where we can actually customize our logo and branding for this particular organization. So in this case, I'm going to go ahead and select this logo here and replace this with some. Something a little bit more aesthetic, I think, for our brand here. So if you are following along and trying to get your workspace set up, this would be a great time to just fine tune this for yourself and make it match your branding. As we go through, make sure you choose the right layout of a image and then we'll be ready to get started. This logo is going to show up to all users inside your account and we'll make sure that everyone knows which workspace they're actually in when they are indeed working on it. So we're just going to go ahead, add that in there, click upload, and replace the SmartSuite branding with our own branding. Beyond that, we have our member directory, our start items, my work and notifications. Let's go through each of these because I think when we're getting into SmartSuite, this stuff can feel very subtle. It's very. It's a calming interface. So sometimes it's hard to know how to navigate these more important areas just because it all kind of. It's so cohesive. It's like a painting. Which one do I need to click on? The first thing that you'll see here is Member directory. When you are creating your new account with us today, this is going to be pretty boring. I mean you see your beautiful face which is great, but there's not too much else going on. Notice that SmartSuite does provide these kind of onboarding tips as you get started, which are fantastic resources for diving deeper. But for the sake of today, just know that this will list all of your existing members and users inside this environment. Mara is asking, will this work on the free account or do we need to set up a pro trial? Everything I'm going to be showing you today guys, you can do on the free account. I know for folks who have been following SmartSuite for a while this might be like what a free account. This hasn't always been a thing in the SmartSuite universe, but they now have a really generous free plan for teams of up to I believe it's three users at this point in time and you can experience pretty much every feature that exists this with a really simple pricing plan and that's all you'll need for today's tutorial. So digging back in, we've got our member directory. Then we have starred. What the heck is starred guys? Well you might know this as a favorites bar, a bookmarks bar, a quick reference area from other tools. That's what we're going to have going in here. Next to that we have my work. Now my work as that pop up nicely, kind nicely told you, is the space where you can see the summary of everything inside your SmartSuite account. We'll talk more about this in detail in the next live stream, but for now just know that this is your kind of summary. Start my day what's going on area, that is my work. Over to the right of this we have our notifications area. Again, new account not going to be that exciting, but as you have collaborators in here, this is going to become invaluable. To actually finish setting up our account though, we are going to want to navigate into some of our workspace settings and actually fine tune this workspace or for our needs and preferences. To do that we're going to click on our little face over in the corner and navigate down to workspace administration. This is where we're going to just adjust the core fundamental things that will determine how our workspace works normally in other tools. If we were talking about this, I would be warning you at this point that guys we need to adjust our notification settings. We need to do this, we need to do that. Something that's really refreshing about SmartSuite, and I hope you'll see as we go through today is how little you actually need to set up to get started. And so I will be talking you through these key areas and what you'll want to keep in mind. But just know There is no SOS setup instructions for SmartSuite out of the box. The notifications are very tame and in regards to like the other things that typically annoy people about new software onboarding, it's pretty mild in the SmartSuite environment. It's very focused on just giving you the information you need, which is refreshing. So going inside these workspace settings, here's where we can kind of set up what the heck our environment is. Our virtual office is for our team. Up at the very top we are able to set our workspace profile. This gives SmartSuite some data about our account, helps them tailor features and understand who their users are. We don't really need to worry about any of this right now other than making sure that this demo name is meaningful. So if we head on in here, we probably want to make sure that anyone we're going to be inviting into this workspace understand what this workspace is all about. So if I had something like Layla's workspace, that may not be the most meaningful. When I invite Carly in to work on a project, she's like Layla's workplace for what? So just like in other tools, let's make sure we're calling this something that represents either our company name or our purpose of this workspace. Demo llc, for example. Other details you can choose to add if you'd like to, but it is not required at this stage. So we're going to go ahead Exit without saving, although might as well fill it in, right? If you're going through this for yourself. Below here we have workspace preferences. This is where we can actually adjust the time zones of when we're going to be working in our language. Something that's pretty neat about SmartSuite right out of the gate is the language availability for folks who prefer to work with teams, prefer who are working with teams who are in multiple areas, multiple time zones, multiple languages. How SmartSuite handles localization is pretty cool to see. So if you'd rather flip out your language preferences, this would be the place to do it. And there we go. So moving on beyond here, Exit without saving. We've got our primary contacts next. So this is going to be basically the contact on file for the account, the person who's going to be talking with SmartSuite. Should there be any issues coming up, this is probably going to be all of you here. So take a moment, fill out your information and just let SmartSuite know that you are the person to speak to. You're the VIP below this. We get into stuff that I personally find really exciting about this platform. I think when it first came out there was a lot of discussion, including from me, of SmartSuite being, you know, a database. It's like Airtable and ClickUp had a baby. And while that's true, I think the sections we're about to get into around working days, holiday schedule and so on represent something else that SmartSuite kind of taps into, which is the people management side. I have not seen many tools. Let's think of airtable, let's think of Coda, let's think of Notion. Not many tools have actually pre built some box features around people management, but in this tool they're there. So let's poke around these. The first one we want to look at is the working days. This is where we can set our default schedule for the workspace and for the organization. This is often going to be your business hours and so please adjust these to whatever your particular hours hours are. So maybe it's 9 to 5 except on Fridays where you close at noon. Take a moment to just adjust these and if you can scroll in the correct direction better than I can, you can update your working availability there. See the nice visual breakdown. It does also break down hours per day, which is pretty cool. Below that we have the option of adding a holiday schedule. Again like whoa. It's really refreshing to see these team focused features being built in. I don't know about you guys, but I have worked in so many tools along the years. You know, from Asana to Trello to ClickUp to whatever where holiday schedule and realizing that people aren't always available is so much manual administration. This is a really great way for us to make sure we're setting that expectation from the get go. And this does feed in to those availability discussions we'll have later. So for this particular situation we're going to want to add in our holidays. So holiday is going to be live stream day. That's for some reason a holiday for us and we can add each of our holidays for the company into this year. If you were doing this for your team, I might suggest adding some more clarification versus just the holiday name such as saying, you know, is this paid time off? Is this flex time off? Is this just a notable event you could repurpose this to mean a lot more than just, you know, a national holiday. So make sure you're taking a few moments to define that here when you're setting them up. Note you can also see this in two different views, depending on how you like things to go. Personally, I found the working days and non working days breakdown which I hope you can see. I know it's a little bit small on the screen there. That is just really neat from a capacity planning perspective. So moving on, we have SSO setup. If you are someone that uses single sign on, check that out. If you are on the free plan of smartsuite, don't quote me but I'm pretty sure you will not have this available. But as we move on into the higher plans you will see this be added. It's a nice little way to consolidate password management. Marin says, I would love to be able to upload holidays. Ooh, I would too. That would be a great kind of a bulk update here. We do see those kinds of features in SmartSuite on particular fields, but what I'm hearing from you is that that could be a great kind of like an addition here to be able to have a CSV import and forgive me if I misunderstand missing it here, but I do not think that's currently possible. But we can completely make that a feature request. In fact, let's just do a quick aside here for anyone watching. SmartSuite does have a transparent feedback board which I love. You guys are probably the same way if you're watching this channel. If you are as geeky about the tools you use as I am, you probably want to have a say in how they're developed. And that's one of my favorite things about working with kind of like up and coming software companies. You know, they haven't been around for 20 years and are stodgy and in their way is SmartSuite is releasing new features weekly. Like we're constantly seeing updates and so for feature requests like this Martin, that would be a great thing to add on to this feature request and just see what you can have happen. I know so many things that I have been like I uploaded just a week ago would be moving on and is either being released or at least is in progress by this week. So the development speed is really cool to see. So yeah we'll do awesome. Moving back on in to our little demo workspace here we're getting ourselves set up. Once we finish the workspace settings we are in a position where we could manage our Team and manage members. Now, if you are someone that is like ready to go with SmartSuite, you're like, yes, I'm gonna get started. You could choose to invite members and team members here, but personally, from my experience, I would suggest you wait just a little bit. Not to say you want to hold off indefinitely, but at this stage of the game, we only want to be inviting members that are going to be architects, architects of the system, so solution creators or administrators in some way. So you have an operations lead who's going to be helping you own the SmartSuite creation process. By all means, get them in here. But for everybody else, in my experience, giving access too early can cause a little bit of overwhelm and shiny object syndrome, which I know we're all trying to tailored down. And so you might want to wait until after the second live stream in this series before you invite your broader team. Based on my experience, but up to you. Once we have our members and team, sorry, members invited, our operations leads invited, then we can get into the teams world again. This is one of those people management features that is pretty stand out. This is where we can define the units of people that exist inside our organization. Now, as this kind of image suggests, the neat thing about teams in SmartSuite is that they don't have to be mutually exclusive. Let me show you what that means. As we add a team here, such as marketing team, we can choose what visibility that team has. So basically is it a team that we want people to be able to get into? Then we can also set a status for that team. So for example, if we don't yet have a marketing team, we can leave it as such or we can make it public. Then we can look at all of the members in our workspace. In this case, I mean, there's just that one good looking person, but there's not many people to choose from a status for that team. So for example, if we don't yet have a marketing team, we can leave it as such, or we can make it public. Then we can look at all of the members in our workspace. In this case, I mean, there's just that one good looking person, but there's not many people to choose from. We can choose to add those folks into that team and we can always also assign ownership of that overall team. What's cool about this is you can have the same people in multiple teams if needed. And I know for many of us here we're operating with smaller teams and so people are wearing multiple hats and you probably Have a slightly more matrix like org structure. You can reflect that in these teams. So I could have the marketing team that Layla's a part of, I could have the customer experience team that Layla's a part of. We can add any combination of human beings into these team units. Now, the question naturally is, but why? Why would I bother setting these up? Well, with teams we can create a collective assignee and that sounds fine, right? It saves you from having to select all the faces. But we can also use these teams for things like automations and for permissions. So if you wanted to make sure certain fields, certain records, certain whatevers are only available to your leadership team, rather than having to remember who's on leadership at any moment of time, we could just have one team called leaders. Invite the relevant people into it, share those things with those people. In this case, leaders. And if our leaders change over time, we just change it right here and it updates all of the other instances. So that's our managed teams. Finally, we're onto plans and billing. I'm currently on a demo account, so this isn't very inspiring, but you here could evaluate the different plans that you have available to you and consider what is the right fit for you. Something I did talk about before, but I want to highlight here, is that unlike most other software out there right now, SmartSuite is a little bit radical and I'm scared to say this in case they change it, but currently there is almost no feature difference between their plans. Yes, there are differences in terms of costly benefits like file storage and recycle Bin and records per solution, but that's really it. Like once you're on a paid plan, your features are pretty much just as fully featured as the other ones. There's some little tiny differences, but it's very, very generous. And I don't know about you guys, but navigating, you know, limited usage plan differences can be very confusing. And I thought this was a really nice value add and a good reason to give it a shot because you'll be able to trial the full experience pretty much. So that is that. I know. Shh, Avi. I won't say anything, but man, you can't just be me getting confused by those other plans out there. Alrighty, so that is workspace administration. Once we are done that, we might want to go into our personal information and start adjusting this. Now, for the sake of this live stream, I probably won't go through every single detail here because I think that probably would be boring for you. But leave it to say in some your SmartSuite account when you locate your personal info, here's where you can set up things like your. Well, your personal profile, it's what it's called. So you've got your opportunity to add a title, your department, the type of team member you are, and a whole bunch about yourself. And this is what allows you to have a clear way of seeing what each person on your team is doing, who they are, what they do, and I don't know, just really facilitates communication. In this same area you're going to see your general preferences and notifications pop up. General preferences are where you define your time zone. Please note this is different than your workspace time zone. So you have got your time zone for the individual user which impacts things like the automations you schedule and you have the time zone for the overall workspace which can be two separate things, which is pretty nice. Below this we have the notification settings. Now this is normally the area like I said before that I would be making scary noises telling you change this, change this. But really we've got a pretty simple lineup here when it comes to notifications. If we go to edit them, we have two major options. Figure out about updates or join the newsletter. That's it. And when it comes to the actual notifications in the software, we click on this little carrot here and we can be notified about 3 seconds separate categories of notifications and that's it. Now it can be a little strange at first to not have as much control at this settings level. But just know even though these are very simple you can still adjust this more fine tune on a record by record basis or using automations by using the kind of following system. In terms of suggestions of how to go about setting this up, I would suggest removing this final check mark. I think for most people this is going to be a little over the top. Although if you're worried you're welcome to keep it on. I would keep the assigned to me notifications and I would keep the mentions always. But the update and deleted thing I think that could become a little noisy if you're using SmartSuite as much as I expect you to be below that in terms of the updates. This is going to be personal preference. Personally I find it sometimes easier to not subscribe to the product updates and instead go and take advantage of SmartSuite's community. So let me just show you what that looks like up here. SmartSuite's community allows you to subscribe to certain updates and to me this is a little bit more meaningful than getting the general email blasts and I don't know, personal preference, but this is where I would be going. I really like seeing their product updates here and joining and subscribing through this tribe setup versus having to get emails that kind of just all look like emails and we all know what happens in the email inbox. It's anyone's game. So that's what I would suggest if I was you and up to you on the newsletter here. Finally we have the mobile push notifications piece. So this is an opportunity for you to get the SmartSuite app on your phone. And once it's on your phone, well you know how phones work, it pings you about stuff. The nice thing about this is if you do have the app on your phone, if you are not an email person like me, you can then get buzzed and binged and boomed and whatever whenever a notification is hitting you. So it'll just do a little pop up at the top of your phone saying XYZ happened. I think the mobile app on SmartSuite is it's right now it's early stages, but it's very functional. It does everything you would expect it to do. It works nicely, it looks nice and so regardless of which device you're on, I think it'd be worth checking out. It might be a refreshing shift from some of the more desktop heavy platforms, Abby says. You mean I won't get notified when the janitor at ClickUp goes on a bio break? Yeah, I would say the notification system inside of SmartSuite is a little bit more subtle by default, which can be a little refreshing for folks who maybe don't need the granularity or want the granularity of the other systems. Do keep in mind though Abby and everyone here that even though these notifications settings are much simpler and way easier to set up than other tools, you still do need to have this set up on a personal basis. So when you have a new team member joining you inside SmartSuite when later on we invite folks in, make sure you tell them the same information. Just send them this timestamp. We'll have it in the video description and make sure that they get their stuff done dialed in. So below this we've got some general administration work and a cool activity history setting. Now right now the activity history and login history is still coming, but keep an eye on this. This is the kind of stuff that makes SmartSuite already interesting right out of the get the gate. Sorry I can't speak even as a newer software because managing Active sessions, activity history and login history is already giving us that ERP scope SKU that permissions and security focused SKU that we would expect based on the founding team. If you are someone that needs a better audit trail of what people are working on, when they're working on it, what's happening, how used is this system? If you're interested in the potential future of gamification for the work management space, I think these three settings here are going to be a game changer. So beyond doing all that and setting your personal status, you getting your account set up and sending your setting your pretty profile picture and cover image, that is pretty much all we have inside the personal settings area. Once we are done with that, we are ready to head back to the homepage, which you can navigate to using this little grid up here in the left or by clicking on your logo in the middle actually over here. And then we can get ready to actually get started. So as we do that, I want to just do a quick check in on the crowd here. What are you thinking so far? Any questions coming up in these early days? Anything that's scary, anything that's confusing, anything that's burning, unless it's your house, if your house is burning, don't tell me. Just go handle that. Okay. All right, so I don't see anything coming up here quite yet. Oh, there we go. Taryn asks, Is SmartSuite a ClickUp competitor? You know, I think you ask 10 people and you're going to get 10 different answers on this. In my opinion, which I guess you're asking me for mine. In my opinion, they can be competitors, but they can also be compliments and they can also be competitors for different avatars. So in my view, if you watch our ClickUp vs SmartSuite video, which Carly, maybe we can grab that blog and put it in the chat. I view SmartSuite and ClickUp as doing similar things in very different ways, with very different development priorities and for a very different customer avatar. So yeah, can they both track tasks? Yes, but with the same person who loves ClickUp like SmartSuite, I don't know that it's that likely. I think people who find ClickUp frustrating in certain ways will find SmartSuite a breath of fresh air and vice versa. People who find SmartSuite to this out of the other might find ClickUp a better fit. I think it's about finding the tool that works best for your priorities. And while both can serve a similar function, I know teams that are using both side by side. I know, teams that have switched from one to the other and both, both directions. I don't think there's a good, better best or a, you know, a competitive nature. They're in the same arena and they're kind of all growing together, but they're very different. Are we switching from ClickUp to SmartSuite? We are using both platforms and so you can find more information about this on our YouTube channel. We can grab the link for that as well. Martin says read the software. They are missing some key features that give me pause to adapt it like recurring tasks. Okay, so we're going to talk about. Let me, let's hold this question, Carly. Don't let me forget. Let's have this pop up in a few minutes. I want to show you this. Martin, once we're actually inside a works like setup here. Okay. So just checking on the rest of the chat. Getting stressed because you rely on our ClickUp guides. Don't worry, we're not going anywhere. You'll. You'll be sick of me by the end of the year and yeah, waiting on some features. Okay, cool. So we're going to dive back in now and now that we've gotten our basic settings set up, we're going to start setting up our actual account and get into that actual workspace management arena. Now for this workspace, when you get right out of the gate, SmartSuite starts you off with four default solutions. What's the solution? Layla? Good question. Let's go over the hierarchy real quick before we go too much into the weeds. So a solution in SmartSuite is this button here. It's a container for a variety of apps. These solutions are intended to solve a problem, to be a functional, functional solution to a problem you have most often. What we'll see these solutions be called is the name of a major process or more often a system in your business. So you might have something like sales onboarding, maybe a department name or so on. However, to be a little bit process driven about it, to start you off with a very simple foundation, we're actually going to be building this together from a blank slate, meaning we're going to keep everything inside of one solution, one solution in this case to the task management puzzle. To do that, we are actually going to start off by removing the existing default things which I accidentally just clicked on because I'm sloppy with my mouse movement are intended to solve a problem, to be a functional, functional solution to a problem you have most often. What we'll see these solutions be called is the name of A major process or more often a system in your business. So you might have something like sales onboarding, maybe a department name or so on. However, to be a little bit process driven about it, when it's looking to the side, we're just going to click on the little three dots and delete the existing solutions. Now, if you are someone that is still exploring SmartSuite, by all means go poke around these demos because each demo area teaches you a new skill set to start you off with a very simple foundation. We're actually going to be building this together from a blank slate, meaning we're going to keep everything inside of one solution, one solution in this case to the task management puzzle. To do that, we are actually going to start off by removing and helps you get inspired about new ways to use SmartSuite. However, if moving the existing default things, which I accidentally just clicked on because I'm sloppy with my mouse movements, you are someone who is in a rush. You're just trying to get that first hour down and have something working by the time looking to the side, we're just going to click on the little three dots and delete the existing. You're done. I think we can start a little bit more simply and just add more evolutions as we go. So what we're going to do here is create a new solution again, that new problem we're trying to solve in this case and that's going to be our task solution. So to do this we can either start from scratch or start with a template. Normally if I was creating this solutions. Now, if you are someone that is still exploring SmartSuite, by all means go poke around these demos because each demo area teaches you a new skill set and helps you get inspired about new ways to use SmartSuite. However, if you are someone who is in a rush, you're just trying to get that first hour down and have something working by the time. If I'm a little biased, I like to start from scratch because I like to get in the weeds and see how things are built. But for done, I think we can start a little bit more simply and just add more evolutions. For now, I'm going to go ahead and do start with template. For the sake of time, we're going to search for the template called Task Manager and that's the one we're going to be using as our rough outline for today. Keep in mind that SmartSuite has a bajillion, that's the technical term templates available to us here. And each template inside this area as we go. So what we're going to do here is create a new solution again, that new problem we're trying to solve in this case, and that's going to be our task solution. So to do this, we can either start from scratch or start with a template. Normally, if I was creating this, including the one we'll be going through today, can be clicked on and actually previewed without having to. If I'm a little biased, I like to start from scratch because I like to get in the weeds and see how things are built. But for now, I'm going to go ahead and do start with template for the sake of time. We're going to search loaded into your account. This is a really nice little feature. So if you're just curious about what other people do in SmartSuite, what are some use cases? You can click on any of these available templates for the template called Task Manager and that's the link one we're going to be using as our rough outline for today. Keep in mind that SmartSuite has a bajillion that's the tech notes and click around with them, experience them, see what the records look like and use them for inspiration. However, for now we're just going to click Use template templates available to us here and each template inside this area. Okay, Once we use this template, we end up having a task, including the one we'll be going through today can be clicked on and actually previewed without having to load it into your account. This is a really nice little feature. So if you're just curious about what other manager solution, I'm going to go back for just a moment and you'll see that that Task Manager solution is now here people do in SmartSuite. What are some use cases? You can click on any of these available templates here it is our only solution. It's going to be our main area inside this area. We're now going to start customizing this for our workflows, but remember, we're going to be expanding on this next and click around with them, experience them, see what the records look like and use them for inspiration. Week Obligatory reminder here. If you have not RSVP'd for next week's live stream. However, for now we're just going to click Use Template where we start taking this up a notch. Grab the link. We'll have it somewhere in the chat here and make sure that you can join us. Okay, Once we use this template, we end up having a Task Manager solution. I'm going to go back for just a moment and you'll see that that task manager solution is now here for that. But once we have this, we are going to start fine tuning this first solution. Here it is our only solution. It's going to be our main area. Inside this area has our sandbox. Now if we were building this in an experimental way, I'd probably just tell you to call this the sandbox. But for now we're going to call this our business each queue. This is something that we're going to evolve and we can ultimately add in other resources as well. So you can go ahead and just call that your business name, your demo name, whatever. We are not going to just use this area for task management. In fact, over the coming weeks we're going to expand this to cover several use cases, all inside one solution. However, for now we just want to change the name. Below that we want to change our solution color to whatever color strikes your fancy. Below that we can also set a solution icon which you can choose from here. Below those options we have our solution Guide. Now. Okay, process geeks out there, this has got to make your heart happy as much as it does mine. The solution guide is basically your document for where you explain what the heck this solution is for. In this case, since we used a template, we do have some example data in here. However, as we start building this out and once we follow their how to use this template guide, we are going to want to customize this to suit our own preferences. So for now I'm going to keep it here. But remember, we'll want to revisit this as we start customizing things. Below those options we have the views for permissions automations, which is really cool and a few other good things. The main things we want to focus on first here is permissions. Though if you did invite other users into your workspace or you already have your team in SmartSuite, do take a moment to make sure that this solution is only shared with you. Because if we're going to build something experimental, we don't necessarily want it confusing our teammates. At this moment, you can choose to change this from all members if it's just you in there, or if you don't care. Or in this case I would flip it to advanced permissions so you can only have certain people have access. Once you do that, we've changed our solution permissions and then we can close that out. Beyond permissions, we have a few other settings like I talked about earlier, but we're not going to worry about Those right now, we're going to shift into the views and setup piece. So over here, to the kind of left side, we start to explore the next layers of SmartSuite's hierarchy. And as I was starting to get to before, I think it'd be meaningful to do a quick primer on what that hierarchy is. So in SmartSuite, we have those solutions. As you saw before, the solutions are kind of our overall pods inside our workshop space, which is our account workspace solution. Got it. Got it. Once we've got that down, we've got our apps. Right now we have one app in here, but we can add many, many, many more. Each app is its own database for organizing its own distinct type of information. And we can control a lot about what those apps appear as, how they work, who can see them by adjusting those app settings using the little caretaker below our apps in the hierarchy, that is, we have these guys. Now, don't let this fool you, because right now it says task. These are not necessarily always tasks. In fact, in SmartSuite, all of our thingies, our rows in our spreadsheet are just records. They can mean anything we want them to mean. And we can rename them as needed to be tasks to. To dos, to dos, if I can do that, to dogs, to books, to whatever else we want. And these records are the next layer of our hierarchy. So we've got solution app and then record inside the records themselves. We have more fun stuff happening. We've got sections that provide visual breaks, but the real meat of these records are the fields. Every single thing that you want to organize data around in the container of a record will be placed put in one of these fields. There's a field for text, there's field for tags, there's field for assignment or people. And if we go into the add a new field area, you can explore all of these different field types here. One thing I want to repeat, it bears repeating because it can be a shift from other tools. Like if you're coming from notion here, everything inside of SmartSuite Records is going to be in a field that can be a shift, right? There's not just a freestyle page area to have some, you know, open text, you actually need to add the text field. Everything is going to go into those structured data sources if you want to have them in your record. Sounds a little weird at first, but once you get used to it, it's actually a really nice way to keep your information organized. Inside these fields, each one that we have here, we have additional options and this is where the power users among us will start to differentiate themselves from the day to day users. Looking at this here you can see we have a multiple select field or a multi select. In the multi select field we have what we would normally expect to see right the settings to choose what our multi select choices are. However, smartsuite hides a lot of power in tiny buttons. Not to say that they're hard to find, but they don't distract you. So if you are someone who is just trying to get your task done, don't worry about what I'm about to say. But for those of you who are a little geeky, or maybe you just need to know a little bit more to define some workflows for your team, pay attention to the details inside the space. When we see this carrot here we have the option to change the display format. This is one of those sneaky details that can change a lot about what our work looks like. Additionally, you'll notice a selector appear when you hover over the little icons. Here's where we can actually choose to change the colors that are represented by each multi select option. Additionally and one I've highlighted in other videos. Notice this expansion option. This looks like it might just allow you to zoom in, but if you are clever and click around you'll notice that this actually does so much more. It allows us to pre select certain options such as earlier when we were talking about holidays. I don't think there's a holiday one in here, but there are a bunch of things that we can add by default into the lineup by importing them here. This is the kind of little stuff that really boosts the efficiency of the system and allows us to organize things based on how we want to work. And if you are someone who's going to be getting into that administrator skillset, pay attention to these little details because they can make a huge difference. Notice we also have the ability to add things like values and choice descriptions at this point. If you haven't gathered by now, descriptions and write ups and process documentation is a real strength of SmartSuite. To be able to say Wednesday means the day after Tuesday. That can be helpful. Maybe not for this use case, but you can imagine the ability to define what each variable means and why it means that can be very useful. So I digress though. Devil's in the details in other words, and you can see what that looks like here by having that placeholder text. As we are going to start building out our task management structure, what we want to do is make sure that our fields and all the relevant settings are complex and or simple enough to suit our workflows. So to do that, we are actually going to open this record just like we did before and review them all together. So I want to just ask a quick question for the chat here, for folks that are here. How are you currently managing your priorities? So in terms of what you do in a given day, what are you doing for that? Are you using due dates, dependencies, urgency flags, Just whatever I see first, Whatever scares me the most. I'm waiting for someone to say just like whatever my mom yells at me to do or whatever my, my boss yells at me to do. How are you determining that? Because your answer is going to determine what fields we do or do not keep here. As I'm waiting for some of those answers to come in, we're just going to do a little experimentation ourselves. I know for me, when it comes to tasks, I definitely have, first of all, tasks that I'm focused on. And once we have this, I do use a status field. I think it's important for me to know what I can do and what I can't do. But personally, I prefer statuses to be a little simpler. As you saw back here at the beginning of the show when I was kind of showing you this agenda here, when I'm tracking the things I'm talking about or quick activities, I prefer simpler statuses in most instances just because it's easier for my brain to keep track of. So as I go ahead and cross these up off, let's talk about how we can make our particular flow a little bit easier. So back over in this stake, I see we've got some answers coming in. So you guys are using due dates. Due dates and then ignore them. Abby, you're the best. Moran says action items from meeting notes to Sean's due dates. Okay, everyone's a due date person here. That surprises me. That's not common. So you guys must be an exceptional bunch. So let's use due dates then, if we know we want our task to be clearly described. And because of my own bias, I want to have my statuses be a little simpler. I don't necessarily want this much complexity. I'm going to go ahead and do something like this, actually. Yeah. Backlog in process complete. Something very simple. I am also going to require an entry in the status field. This isn't something everyone's going to want to do, but because I'm coming from, from the idea of trying to recreate a traditional task manager, I always want to know what status something is, so I am going to require that. And I'm also going to say that the complete field is the word complete. I am also going to require an entry in the status field. This isn't something everyone's going to want to do, but because I'm coming from the idea of trying to recreate a traditional task manager, I always want to know what status something is. So I am. Nothing crazy there. In addition to this, I'm going to make sure my default status because I'm requiring it and I don't like to click a lot of buttons if I don't have to. I'm going to make sure that's backlog, meaning by default, if I don't click anything. Just assume that the thing hasn't been done yet or hasn't been started yet. All right below that we've got our assigned TO field. This is our field that's going to determine our visibility. So many folks here, Sean, Abby, Muren, so many people are using due dates in SmartSuite. You've got due dates. They're fantastic. We can go in here, modify these field settings, we can change how they're displayed. We can do a lot of stuff to make sure that our due dates are visible to us. But all of that will be for naught if we don't say who needs to care about that due date. So that's where the assigned to field comes in. We've got our due dates to satisfy the requirements of the crowd here, but we want to make sure we keep this assigned to date so we know who should be aware of that due date. This feeds in if I just click save here to the My work section up at the top. So going back here, save changes. You can do it. Come on, come on. I was excited because I'm live streaming. This feeds in to the overall My work section up at the top of the screen. So here we go. We've got our tasks here. I didn't adjust those due dates, so it was, I believe, in one of the other sections. But this is where we're going to be able to see what is assigned to us. What day is it due? The only way this works in such an unbiased system like SmartSuite is to make sure we're using both the assigned to field like our people who need to watch out for this field and the due date in combination. Oh, and I should also say so for folks like Katrin and others here who are very common who don't like due dates, I mean my spouse. You've seen some videos on the channel, he cannot do due dates. Not going to happen. And so for him and for others in that position, just know that unlike others out there, we do have the option to change the overall bias of the SmartSuite system. As long as we use that assigned to field, basically saying, who should care about this, who's responsible? We can change how we look at things. So we could say, hey, show me everything that's by priority. Show me everything by status. Show me everything. We can group things in different ways based on our needs. So if you are not a due date person, like maybe you're not like Adan, you don't. You can't do that. You're like to do today. That's too hard. We can change the way we look at this, but all of this relies on us having a very clear assigned to field which we're going to keep as is. Below that we have priority. Now if we are someone that uses the priority fields like Cat Rin here, we are going to want to keep this field here. Click modify and just make sure that we have the right categories for how we like to think about priority. Are you low, high, low, medium, high, urgent, critical, you know, whatever. Let's make sure these match our reality. We're going to click in here, change the name, change the color, and so on. Just like with other options. We also will probably want to set a default value here because I'm lazy. You're probably lazy. If we want this to always be filled in, let's make sure we default to a certain value so that it's not defaulting to blank. It ensures that we have consistent data and when we match that with a requirement, we can ensure that this is always going to be filled in. So update the field there. If you are someone however, that does not use priority, I would suggest deleting this field just to declutter it. Personally, I'm not a big priority field person because I think priority means different things to different people. And so I'm going to remove it. Next to this we also have tags. This would be more effective for folks who are using the GTD style systems where you're using tags as context or categories. However, for the purposes of today, and for what we're going to be talking through later on in the series, I'm going to be removing tags because that's not going to serve our overall capacity management structure. Do what's best for you though. Below this we have subtasks. I know, right? Subtasks in a database. This is crazy. What you are seeing here is a checklist field. This is something that's very, I think, uniquely executed in smartsuite. When we go back to this overview area, you can see the details of this here. Opening this baby up though, we can see the sub items that we want to break down inside this particular area. This is using, I know I use the word sub items with lowercase s, but this is using the checklist field. So as we go ahead and mark some of these off, we'll see that progress bar automatically tailored down. We'll see the overview area from the parent view kind of move across and ultimately we can track the completion of a project. I think for most people this is the way you're going to want to have your project structured where your task is your record and your checklist items are your subtasks. And for clarity, I'm actually going to go ahead and call this Subtasks. You could also call this Checklist or Inner Tasks, whatever you'd like. But I'm going to call this Subtask for my own sanity. And I'm going to change the color to green because I just think that's a satisfying color for progress. Below this we have related tasks. Okay. Related tasks is currently the way that SmartSuite is operating dependencies. Now I want to just highlight the fact that SmartSuite is developing. From what I've gathered there's like some rumbles out there. There's going to be some changes and enhancements to this workflow. But for right now, if we want to connect tasks together, this is one of the easiest and go to ways to go about doing that. However, for today, I don't think we actually need to worry about this too much because we're just going to be creating a basic task list and most of our things will be organized as subtasks or checklist items. Here I'm actually going to go ahead and delete this particular section from my task because I don't think we'll need it for the purposes of our task management system. Once we got this, we have our task structure. We've got our subtasks in this collapsible area we've got task information. The last thing for my neuro spicy brain Abby that I want to do is to go in here and actually make sure these are default collapsed. So these sections are something that I can define. I can make a million of these and add intersections to break down as much as I want. But I do not like to see Everything right away. This is my preference, please use yours. But for me, I'm going to adjust these settings to ensure that they are always collapsed by default. This will ensure that when we actually have any record open. So when I save this here and I'm opening a new record, it's going to default to that closed state. Okay, so I see a question in the chat from Abby. Can we save subtasks as templates? Yes, yes and no. It's. It's a little bit different of a terminology than what you might be used to, Abby. But the way we do that in SmartSuite would be by going inside our checklist field and utilizing those default values. That would be the first method. So we could go in here and say every time we have a task or a record, in this case that means a task created, we want to have these five checklist items created as well. That will ensure that every time a new record's created, these values are going to be there. I know that's a very meaningful value and I'm sure you're so excited to see that. But let's just show you that test got our record be created. I do have a lot of default fields here, but going in here test go into subtasks and we see our default values. That's one way to use templates. The other way to template in the traditional sense would be to use automations inside of your SmartSuite solution and say every time a task or a record is created and a field is this, then add a certain checklist field. But yeah, so there's a few different ways to go about it depending on your use case. But it is a little bit of a mindset shift from ClickUp, which I think is where you're coming from. Once we have this going, I want to highlight the feature that Mario's hitting on, which is the stuff in the top right corner. The first button here is following, not following. This is kind of like Facebook. Do you want to be notified about changes to this particular record? Next to that we have our activity history. This is showing the log of changes. You probably won't be in here too often unless you're being really nosy. And to the right we have the conversation area. So this is called the communication center. This is where you can do full form commenting back and forth with about, I don't know, five second delay. So it's quasi real time to message back and forth. In this area you have options to resolve and view all comments, give reactions in your preferred format and even track Other Details Mario I agree that it could be really nice to have this communication center open by default. Just one less click. I think SmartSuite is pretty a little data skewed and that shows in how simplified the commenting area is right now and how collapsed it is. I think that'd be a great feature request though. So we can probably grab the link for SmartSuites canny and add that in here so we can make sure that gets suggested because I would upload that as well. All right, so that is our area. Once we are done with this, the very last thing we need to do so we are ready for next time is delete any junk we created, which you probably didn't create this with me, but I created a bunch of junk in this process. And we also want to delete any unused views. So over here we've got our views center by default. SmartSuite is giving us a ton of views in this template, but personally I think we want to focus in on just the views that suit our brain. So I see the question here. We're going to make sure we fly in. Let's just clean this up first. If you are someone that likes a traditional spreadsheet listy gritty view, these green ones are probably going to suit your brain very well and I would keep them. However, if you are someone that prefers a more board like view, a more trello like view, keep any of the purple views. If you are someone that prefers to see things on a calendar, you might prefer the orange views here and so on. There's a lot we can do in terms of the smartsuite views, but personally I'm going to go ahead and delete all of the ones that do not suit my way of managing work, or in this case my team's way of managing work, please do the same in your own particular flow here. So you've got quick reference areas to find information in the way that suits your brain. So I actually do not want to see. I'm actually going to delete completed tasks. I'm just going to show open and all. Yeah, we also have a chart view here that shows us the overall tasks by priority. To me this is cool, but it's not actually going to be meaningful for our setup today. So I'm also going to delete this. Just know that these chart views are here. They're super cool. When we get into the sales reporting template later on, I think you guys will love that. But for now I'm going to stick with this layout. I'm also going to Go ahead and put the calendar view as my default, because I just love how that looks. I'm going to change it. So that way we're focused on one week at a time, which I think is a little bit more focused. Add some dates onto that calendar as we need to. And we can also add this to our starred. Because I feel like this is a view I'm going to be using often. So I'm going to go ahead and click Start here. All right, so let's go ahead and see what we got here. In the chat, there was a question that came in earlier. Was this the one? Maybe not. Maybe I clicked the wrong one. Carly, you could help me. Help me click the right one here in a moment, but Jessica's asking. I know I joined late. I'd like to know how you should use subtasks versus a checklist. Trick question. Trick. Trick question, Jessica. So in SmartSuite, you actually have two options, and they can be used for all sorts of things. But in this case, we actually have a checklist field called subtasks. So this is actually a checklist. So we're just tripping you up. We purposely made it hard. The other option we have available to us is to use a sub item, which is basically like a record inside a record. I would say for most applications for task management, I would default to the checklist. The time to use sub items is when you want to have things within your things that have their own custom fields, have their own specific details that are a lot more spelled out than what you'd have in a simple checklist. I would say for most people, you're going to want the checklist field type. Okay, hopefully that was the right one. Carly's going to pull up the other question that I missed as well. Martin says, read the software. They're missing some key features that are giving me pause to adopt, like recurring tasks. You need an automation to do it. It's really confusing. Yeah. So that is one thing that is a little weird, Right? With tasks management right now, we're focused on just setting up the framework. But when we're talking about things like routines that need to recur, it is a shift of how SmartSuite gets it set up. It's not a quick button. It is using their automation framework. It's not terrible. Like, I think. I think when we hear, like, we have to use automations for occurrences, there's this thought that, oh, my God, it's going to be so. It's really not. Once you get used to it, it is Something that can be easily set and forget, but it's not as easy as what you might be used to in more the task management tools. So I. I've seen feature requests that SmartSuite is aware of this. They're working on some different ways to go about it. But in the interim I just want to clarify that you absolutely can create recurring tasks inside of SmartSuite. It just is. It looks a little different than what you might be used to in a more traditional view. So yeah. Okay, moving on. Moving on. Devonte so glad to hear we helped you build a system. Yes. Okay. Last thing I'm going to say related to all of this good stuff so we can wrap up is to go ahead and actually make sure that we've got ourselves set up for tomorrow morning. Right. So we've got all this set up. We've got our fundamental pieces here. Now we need to get ready to use this system tomorrow morning if we're going to start tracking our tasks. Few things we need to do there. First, we're going to take the views that we love the most and add them to our starred items. So that way I can easily find them tomorrow morning when I'm groggy and sleepy and pre cup of coffee. Second thing we're going to do is go up to our overall solution and clear out that demo data. Love this button that SmartSuite includes in all their templates. Click delete it to get rid of all of their demo stuff, but keep all of your edits and all of your information. Bam. If I go back to my overall template open and assign tasks, we'll see that just my own stuff is still there. The last thing I want to do is just make sure that we were all clear on whether or where we're starting our day. So tomorrow morning when we're going in here to get our workday started, to start adding tasks into our SmartSuite setup, just want to be clear that we're going to be going up and going into my work to find the tasks that are assigned. If we don't have tasks, we can choose to add them here or we can just go ahead and go back into this favorite solution view of ours and add them there so we can get to work. That's how we can set up a basic task management structure inside of SmartSuite to review. We've created today our own workspace, the overall container. We've adjusted all those settings so we're not going to annoy ourselves or anyone else. We've also created a solution Here where we can manage our overall flow and make sure that we can actually start to track our tasks in this area. We've also kind of reviewed the main navigation areas of SmartSuite, although I didn't hit on search, it is something here and something you want to keep an eye on, not that you'll need it at this point. And I also want to highlight that there is resources and upcoming webinars located on here as well. And speaking of which, my own shameless plug, Ivy Kurtz. Yeah, I think so, depending on what you mean by linking records. So in SmartSuite we've got this stuff going on here. Linking records is the ability to connect one thing in SmartSuite to another. So if you don't like that for some reason, if that's not useful to you, you absolutely can just create everything as isolated databases and track your information that way. I think you would probably get, I would say 80 to 90% of the value of SmartSuite if you just avoided linking altogether. But personally, I do think a lot of you guys would find the linking step a value add and it could be really helpful to create things like dependencies, networking items together and build a relational database which is popular for a reason. So any other questions here? Once, twice, Sold. All right, I'm just going to wrap it up and say I really appreciate you guys joining us for this new experimental structure. I know this was a very beginner focused. How do I find this kind of video that was intentional. As we go through each week, it's going to get a little bit more advanced.
