Everyone knows the law of thermodynamics. You have to burn more calories than you take in. I'm not gonna break those rules in this video. However, I am going to show you the tricks that we use at ResetU so they almost become not necessary. In this video, we're gonna talk about how to get rid of cravings, hunger, all those things that make you fall off your diet and easily drop body fat while still taking in less calories. Step 1: Whenever you eat processed foods or foods that don't create a lot of satiety in your body, What happens to your brain is it blocks the sensors to our ventromedial nucleus and our lateral hypothalamus, which basically tell us when we are satiated and when we should stop eating. Those powerful blockages is why we eat so many Pringles. I mean, you've heard, once you pop, you don't stop. You just continually eat. And there's food that literally have negative satiety, or they don't fill you up, they literally make you hungrier, like donuts and chips. Those foods destroy your ability to eat less calories. Now, when you eat whole foods or paleo foods, foods from the earth, what happens is they're sending signals to your brain that you are satisfied. You're getting nutrient-dense foods. Your body is feeling satiated and full. I mean, think about this. How hard would it be to eat 2,000 calories of donuts? Roughly 6 donuts. It's not that hard. I've never realistically ate donuts till I get full. I eat donuts till I get sick and then stop. But if I said, "Hey, I want you to eat as much steak and broccoli as you can," you might get 1,500 calories and that's it. That's exactly how we do it at ResetU. We give our clients whole foods that trick their body into eating less so that they can still abide by the law of thermodynamics. Now, step 2. This is a powerful, ancient, ancient trick— intermittent fasting. You literally won't find a religion that doesn't use fasting to fix the body. At ResetU, we use it to fix powerful hormones, mainly insulin, leptin, and ghrelin. Now insulin is where those sugar cravings come from. When you become insulin resistant, either from carrying too much body fat, which makes you insulin resistant, or eating too much sugary foods or too much carbohydrates throughout your lifetime, what this does is insulin is kind of like the traffic cop hormone. As you take in these foods, insulin's job is to either give you energy or divert that to fat cells for storage for later. Over years of time, this process gets damaged and you become what we call insulin resistant, which means whenever you eat food, you have a rapid spike in insulin and then a drop right afterwards. Then your body's going to crave something to boost your blood sugar back up, like a Snickers, waffles, pancakes, maybe even fruit. Intermittent fasting is the number one way to make you more insulin sensitive, which is the opposite, right? The ability to take in the energy from the food that you eat. Intermittent fasting also has a dramatic effect on leptin, which is your fat cells' kind of gas gauge telling you how much food you need to take in and how much energy to store, and ghrelin, which is like your hunger hormone. Those two hormones, when they are controlled and regulated properly, make it so it's almost effortless diet. And that's why most of our clients at ResetU talk about how they can't eat enough food to reach their calorie goals. They don't ever really have a problem under eating. It's just not a big deal. They're usually stuffed because of all the satiating foods we talked about in step 1 and the intermittent fasting. Step 3: start with the caloric overfeed. Now, most of us start our diet, we automatically start lowering our calories, but the thyroid hormone T3, T4, leptin levels that control how many calories you can actually burn, your basal metabolic rate, is usually low when our clients come into our Reset You program. So what we do is we start off with an overfeed. Now this overfeed will gradually boost the thyroid hormone, T3, T4, and your leptin levels so you can bring in more and so you're burning calories at a faster rate. As you lose weight, as you get smaller, you become a smaller animal, your metabolism actually slows down. Now we can increase the efficiency at which you burn calories, But if you're smaller, you don't need a lot of energy. Think about this. If you were a big African elephant, you'd have a super fast metabolism because you have all this energy to burn. If you're a small human, you don't need as much energy. And if you've lost 30 pounds in your program, you probably need to boost back up your calories and regulate everything so that your new set point regulates at a lower weight. So before you begin your nutrition program and dialing in your macros and cutting your calories, To make this so it's an easy process for you and you're burning calories at the highest rate possible for your body, that way it's easy for you to eat less and, you know, still fall within the laws of thermodynamics. Start with 1 week of eating whole foods like paleo-type foods, whole foods, full satiety foods in an intermittent fasting window, and eat as much as you possibly can. If you do those 3 tricks, your body and your brain will be tricked into getting rid of your cravings and easily losing body fat without you even knowing that you're eating less calories.
