In this instructional video, a Reset U Fitness coach walks viewers through five affordable mobility and muscle‑recovery tools that provide high value and one expensive device that he deems not worth the cost. He begins with a simple knee pad ($26.90) to protect the joint during floor stretches, then recommends a pair of durable lacrosse balls ($7.99) for targeted tissue release on the glutes, feet, and other small areas. Next, he advocates for a Trigger Point brand foam roller ($74.99), emphasizing its textured surface that prevents slipping and offers a lifetime of use. He then highlights fabric hip‑circle bands from Tribe (under $20) as a comfortable, long‑lasting alternative to plastic bands for rotator‑cuff, serratus, and posture work. The fourth recommendation is Voodoo Floss bands ($28.90 for a pair), which act like a portable foam roller, provide blood‑flow restriction, and can be used for knee, calf, and ankle mobility while traveling. Finally, he critiques the Theragun percussive massager (~$330), arguing that its aggressive pressure can damage tissue, offers little benefit over the cheaper tools, and is therefore not a worthwhile investment. The video concludes with a call to subscribe and share, positioning the five tools as a cost‑effective kit for anyone seeking better mobility and recovery.

In this video, we're going to cover 5 recovery tools that are worth your money and one that is not. The first thing is just a knee pad. Whenever people do stretching, especially on our calls, they'll just put their raw knee on hard ground. That creates pain and pressure in your knee, even if it's a little bit. That creates a guarding response, like when you get slapped and everything tightens up. You're not going to stretch if everything is tight because you're feeling pain, and it doesn't take a lot. So if you're doing any kind of stretching, this knee pad—it's $26.90 on Amazon—is super, super helpful. Whatever kind of stretch you're doing, whatever it is where your knee is on the ground, you will want some sort of padding on your knee. For $7.99, you can get two lacrosse balls on Amazon. This is damn near indestructible unless your dog eats it. We like to use this for small tissues like your. Glute med, rolling out that tissue, or even on your feet if you have chronic feet pain, just smashing out that area. And because it's damn near indestructible, you're going to have it forever. So you're making an $8 investment for small tissues to get released almost for life. The next thing that's worth your money for $74.99— I know that sounds expensive— is a trigger point name brand foam roller. And the reason is because this texture and the squish is ideal for rolling against. A lot of clients, when we first get them, they'll, they'll get a longer roller like this for use for upper back, and they'll slide on it and they'll slide right off. And for a lot of clients we have, they're in chronic pain already. So sliding off a roller, trying to get their body to manipulate on here, and it's a slick surface because they paid $20 instead of $75, which is like— What are you saving, $50? It's nowhere near the same experience, and you could slide off and actually hurt yourself with this roller. So what I would rather you do is spend the money up front. I've had this one for over 5 years, so it's not like you're gonna have to buy a new one every single year or within the next 3 months even. This is your foam roller basically for life. But spend the money, $74.99, and then you can do all of these moves And Trigger Point is my favorite brand. Next is fabric hip circle bands. The plastic ones, I hate them so much. This fabric one from Tribe, you get a whole kit for less than $20, and it's different types of strength and stiffness. So you can start from the weakest or move your way up. We can work a little rotator cuff muscles with this, serratus muscles with this, all the muscles for better posture. And it's fabric so it doesn't rip your leg hairs and it lasts so much longer than those cheap plastic bands. Now the self-recovery tool that I think is the best value, for $28.90 you can get 2 of these recovery bands, these Voodoo Floss bands. Now how they work is you would wrap them around whatever muscle's sore. So say you're running and your knees are sore and it's all from your quads being tight, you would wrap it around really, really tight and it works kind of like a foam roller does. But you're foam rolling every single side at the same time. You also get blood flow restriction, so you're getting new blood flow in. And all you gotta do once you've got that on there is bring your knee to your chest and out, move it around, and you're getting all of the healing benefits that you would get from a foam roller and taking time to hit every single angle with this simple little band. On top of that, it fits in your suitcase. You can take it with you when you travel. I've used it as a band for stretching. I've used it as a band to do heel slides for knee issues, band pull-aparts for better posture. If you have 2 of them, you can wrap both calves at the same time, get really good ankle mobility. Damn near 95% of our clients have an ankle mobility issue. This band is something I've had for over 7 years now. It has no wear or tear or anything wrong with it, so you're getting your money's worth for this on Amazon. Serious Steel, they should be paying us for how much we endorse this brand. As promised, the one item I don't think is worth the money. For about $330, you can get a Theragun like this. Every client that I've ever had that uses this They numb themselves with it, fall asleep with it basically, and then the tissue just gets beat down. Your tissues cannot handle too much trauma. If you go to the chiropractor and you're hurt for 6, 7 days afterwards, that's not a good thing. Your tissues need to heal. Something like this is so aggressive that most people's tissues cannot handle it. So you're just paying a lot of money for a lot of noise. And a lot of pressure, and sometimes it's too much pressure. For the most part, it's too much pressure when you can dial back, use something like a foam roller or a Voodoo Band to get a better experience and still get the best result.
