Best Tool for Elbow & Forearm Pain (Pickleball & Tennis Relief!)

Glenn Dawson shows how to use a Voodoo Floss Band to treat pickleball and tennis injuries. Three wraps target the forearm with light rotation, the quad above the knee, and the calf with raises and stretches, each at 7-8/10 tension to release tightness without skin showing.

You need to have this in your bag if you're playing pickleball or tennis. Let me show you why. This is a Voodoo Floss Band, and it'll help you prevent injuries in the forearm, wrist, knee, and in the ankle. And I'm going to show you exactly how to use it right now. The first one we're going to do is release the forearm. So you're going to pinch the Voodoo Band in your bicep and forearm and then wrap over the top. And then you're going to wrap tightly, like a 7 or 8 out of 10. If it tends the most, and then wrap, wrap, wrap, wrap, wrap, making sure that there's no skin showing through. Should get down to about the wrist. With this one, I don't even tuck it in. I'm just going to hold on to it at the top like so. Now the floss is— it's kind of like a foam roller on every single side of your body, so every single side at once. I'm going to take this light little dumbbell and I'm going to rotate back and forth. If you don't have a dumbbell with you in your bag, you probably have a water bottle or a racket, and this will work just as fine. And what we're doing is we're strengthening and we're opening up the supination or rotating outward of the wrist. Most of us sit at a desk and type all day or drive, and our wrist is like this. This movement releases the tension in the tissue. The tendons, ligaments, and the muscles all at once while creating the flexibility so you don't have a wrist or elbow flare-up on the court. The next one we're going to do is the knee. You're going to wrap right above the kneecap on the quad. Most people that play pickleball that I've seen are quad dominant, and so that means that their quad is pulling way too hard, and they also have some sort of IT band issue. Just releasing the tissue around the knee will help. Now this movement here is going to create flexion and extension in those quad muscles. You're just going to go back and forth and just relax. And what's happening now is we're letting the band do the work. Do about 5 to 10 reps of this until it's released and then take the band off and you'll feel a lot of relief in the knee itself. Last but not least, the Achilles tightness or the calf tightness or ankle stiffness is another big one you see from people that are playing pickleball because they haven't been explosive in a while and they start to be explosive. That explosiveness puts too much force through the calf. So if your ankle or your calf is flaring up, wrap the Voodoo Band around your calf, tighten it in there, and then do a calf raise and stretch, an active release. So you're going to press the calf up, hold for 5 seconds and then stretch and release to the ground for 30. You would do this for 3 rounds and you'll literally feel a difference after. So much looser in your foot, your calf, and your ankle. Now, I know you're asking, Glenn, where do I find this mysterious voodoo floss band? Well, my favorite is Serious Steel. It's a great company, and I've tried them all. I'm not being paid by them or anything. They should pay me because this is a great video to show their products. But go to Amazon, I'll put a link below. Get yourself two of them. It's easier to do two at once and bring them in your bag in case you have a flare-up in any of those areas. And if this video brought you value, make sure you share it so other people can reset their body too.
