Desk work rounds your shoulders, tightens your chest, and flexes your spine, causing neck and lower-back pain. The open book stretch fixes it: lie on your back with knees bent, place one arm over your legs, and rotate your torso while your head follows. Do three to five reps per side.

If you sit at a desk, you may be doing this at least once a day. Sitting at a desk rounds your shoulders, tightens up your chest, and also rounds your spine. These things can lead to neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder pain. I could honestly list pain for days. Do this next stretch so that you don't have to worry about it anymore. It's called an open book. To set up the open book, lay down on the ground. Relax your head. Your head's been carried by your neck all day. Your neck is sore and tired. Bring your knees up to a 90-degree angle. Toss this bottom arm on top of that top leg. Lay your arm down, and then you're going to open the book. Now, as I rotate my arm, my head's going to go with it, just like so. Make sure you do both sides, and you can do 3 to 5 reps each side, and you'll feel so much better.
