How's it going, guys? Glenn Dawson here with Reset You Fitness, and tonight we're going to talk about inflammation. More specifically, do you have it? I'm going to go over a couple of clear-cut signs that you're dealing with inflammation. Um, but first, inflammation is this crazy buzzword that we're just tossing around willy-nilly. Why is it important to fat loss or resetting your metabolism? Well, what I don't mean when I talk about inflammation is acute inflammation. Like if you bruised your elbow or something or you hit it, whoo, it starts to swell up. That's not what I mean. What I'm talking about is chronic inflammation that happens inside the gut. So think about your gut swelling. Well, the same thing sort of happens when you're inflamed is when your body tries to fight a virus. See, we try to fight a virus, your body notices this foreign pathogen has entered your body and to protect you from dying, It releases white blood cells and cytokines to go and fight. When your body's wasting or spending all this energy on fighting this virus, it's also slowing down a lot of your body's functions because all it really cares about is basically you surviving. So if you think back to hunter-gatherer days when a virus could kill us, a bacterial infection could kill us, inflammation is very important, right? It means that our body is taking care of us. Well, now we have this insidious chronic inflammation. It doesn't happen, well, sometimes it does happen overnight, but most cases we don't even notice it because it happens so gradually over time. And it'll give you a lot of bad things. Like one of them is being overweight, right? Killing our metabolism, having anxiety, depression, all these things. So we're gonna go over the clear-cut signs that you have an inflammation, or you have an inflammatory response, or you have chronic inflammation in your gut. If you have any of these signs, we've got a gift for you too at the end of the video, um, to help get rid of the inflammation the fastest way possible. But basically, there's, there's a lot of, of, of side effects of inflammation. The worst one that we want to focus on right now is weight gain. So if you are inflamed right now, it means that your body's immune system is taxed. It means your body's Metabolism is slowing down and you're gaining body fat. Your body's not burning the energy like it should. So let's fix it, right? If you have chronic inflammation, these are the signs, especially if you eat something inflammatory. So your body heat rises, you get hot, your skin tone might change to be more red than normal, which is like a clear indicator that, hey, you've been poisoned. And this could happen from anything. But we'll dive into it in a second. Anxiety and depression. When your microbiome is overloaded with bad gut bacteria, the second amount of neural sensors in your body is located in your gut. First, obviously, is your brain. Second, that control your emotion is in your gut. So your body's just feeding you back information from your gut to your brain to say, if you have that inflammation, make them more depressed, make them more anxious. So your baseline is gonna be anxious and depressed, right? It's gonna be easier for you to get into fight-or-flight mode when you have inflammation. So that like shivery feel, like that shaky feeling you get, you know, when you're anxious. You're gonna be bloated and gassy. So your stomach will naturally just blow up with gas because your body's literally trying to fight some poisonous food that you ate. Your bowel movements will be infrequent. You'll have a mucus response, so your throat, your nose, all that stuff will just fill with mucus. And obviously if you get sick, it's because of inflammation. If you're on an anti-inflammatory diet, you'll rarely ever get sick. And I have a lot of friends currently that are getting sick, a lot of them. You know who you are. And we just got done with the holidays. What happens during the holidays? You drink alcohol. Which is just poison for you. Your body can't digest it at all. You get highly inflamed after alcohol. Alcohol can literally give you this hangover, right? Where a lot of those symptoms come from inflammation. Number 2, we're eating bad sugary foods during the holidays. We're eating this processed gunk. We're eating cakes, cookies, pies, all this stuff. So our body's just inflamed. Metabolism slows down. And number 3, we're not getting sleep. It's super difficult for us to sleep because if you're super hot, your body's overheated, you're not gonna get the sleep you need. You're not gonna flush your body's cortisol. And if you're anxious and depressed, you probably got a lot to worry about and sit with at night before you go to bed. So if you've got any of those things going on, right? Weight gain, you feel like your joints are swollen up and you're holding a lot of water, you feel bloated, It's hard for you to go to sleep. You're hot. You've noticed lower energy levels, lower focus, or lower sex drive, because those are all contingent with low— or sorry, with high amounts of inflammation. Then your body's chronically inflamed. And what this means is that your body just isn't going to process the nutrients when you eat them. It's basically just going to store most of them in fat cells. So on top of all those crappy symptoms, the heating, the bloating, the red-colored skin, the lack of focus, the lack of sex drive, you're also going to get gained body fat. You're gonna get fatter. If you wanna reverse this, there's a couple things you should do. Number 1 is click the link above our head and let us professionally help you. Number 2 is intermittent fasting. If you've got a huge mucus response, if you're sick, the number 1 thing you can do is to repair your immune system. Get those white blood cells, cytokines to fight like they were before, before you started throwing poison into your body. So intermittent fasting, taking zero food. You can take in a lot of water, vitamins, stuff that doesn't break your fast, but when you are fasting, your immune system ramps up. In fact, in a 72-hour fast, you have a complete rehaul of your entire immune system. So when your immune system is as strong as it possibly can be, that means you're gonna cut as much inflammation as possible. You usually see a huge response in like 1 to 2 days. Stomach will start to go down, energy levels will pick back up, sex drive picks back up, focus picks back up, and your body temperature regulates the way it's supposed to. You're not like an overheated engine. Now, if you're sick right now, obviously the first thing you should do if you're sick, you got a cold, is to not take in sugary throat lozenges or cough drops or teas or anything like that because that's just going to cause more inflammation chronically, right? It may take away your sore throat, but if you're ingesting all that poison, it's going to make it even harder for your immune system to work. You're sick for a longer amount of time. So the best thing you could do is to prolong your fasting window. Fast 24 hours, 48, whatever it is. Drink a ton of water, get a lot of electrolytes in. Second thing, if you're chronically inflamed and your metabolism's trash, is to eat an anti-inflammatory diet. So make sure all the food that you're eating is not processed. I cannot stress this enough. Make sure the meat that you're eating is from grass-fed animals that are high in omega-3, not omega-6, not omega-9. Cut out the nuts, cut out anything that's inflammatory, even stuff that can be, like nightshades. Cut out the, um, processed foods. Cut out the high sugary carbohydrates. Cut out anything that's going to cause an insulin response, because the more insulin responses you have the more inflammation you're going to have as well. And then number 3, eat a high-fat diet, foods that are high in good fats. And I cannot stress this enough because when you're eating high fat, it's easier for us to process, it's easier for your body to process these foods. You want to lower your carbohydrates because any amount of sugar is going to cause inflammation. So if you're taking in sugar, there's a good chance your body's going to result in inflammation. So if you're eating like hot tea and honey, It's not gonna be good for inflammation. If you're, what's another home remedy that people always mess with that they think is gonna make them feel better? There's so many of them that you just think are gonna be good for you. Or if you got a stomach problem, you eat the BRAT diet, right? 'Cause you've been told by a doctor you should eat bread or banana toast, rice and applesauce, like processed applesauce is gonna help you. With your stomach problems? No, it might be bland and easier to take in, but it's gonna cause more inflammation. So make sure you're taking those 3 steps, and then if you wanna know how to avoid inflammation in the future so you can ramp up your metabolism as quickly as possible and have you losing 15 to 20 pounds in your first month, just like most of our clients do, all you have to do is click the link above our head.
