Your nervous system, not tight muscles, usually stops you from touching your toes. Press your heel down for five seconds to activate your hamstrings, then try. Next, squeeze your fists and feet together for thirty seconds to free your lower back. Most people gain three to five inches of range after these two moves.

If you can't touch your toes, I want you to try these two moves first. Now, the reason why you can't touch your toes is less likely a restriction in the muscle and more a neurological restriction. So what we're going to do to trick your neurological systems is we're going to push our foot down first. So I'm going to push my heel into the ground first, activate this hamstring for 5 seconds, release, and then reach for my toe. Now, you'll also notice the restriction in the back. Isn't gone yet. We're going to take care of that next. Now I'm going to trick my back by activating my pelvic floor and my groin muscles. I'm going to put my fists together, put my feet together, and push and hold for 30 seconds. Once I release, it's going to free up the muscles in my lower back because they don't do any work. Pelvic floor is working. So from here, back down, and you should have increased your range of motion by 3 to 5 inches just from doing these two exercises. You're welcome.
