Glenn Dawson fixed Ryan Scully's knee pain in two weeks before a 100-lap hill climb. The plan started with finding his left hip was forward and his right knee unstable, then moved through quad strengthening, tissue work with a Voodoo Floss Band, and StairMaster conditioning to get him race-ready.

My friend Ryan Scully came to us with bad knee pain before Hell on the Hill, which is a 100-lap treacherous hill climb for charity. Here's exactly what we did to get him prepped for it. So step 1 is no guessing. We assess. The assessment: Ryan's hips were out of alignment. Left hip was forward and the right knee was unstable. After correcting the muscular imbalances, then we moved to strengthening the quads, VMO, and the patella tendon. So the muscles around the knee joint itself. Step 3 was the recovery. So after the strength training, you got to get the blood flow back in and heal the joint itself. This Voodoo Floss Band is going to help me do that. Once the Voodoo Band is on, we did a mix of tissue work and mobility work to make sure that that knee was healing as quickly as possible. Once the knee and hips are tracking correctly, then there's no way around it, you have to get your cardio up. So StairMaster and just running distance are going to help prep Ryan for this event. If your knee is flaring up, you have an event coming up soon, don't skip step 1. Step 1 is assess, otherwise you're just Googling and YouTubing videos to try to figure out how to save your knee. It's not going to work. For a free assessment, just write assess below and we'll get it to you.
