Shoulder pinching when reaching overhead usually means your lats are tight. This lat rollout on all fours uses a karate chop grip and slow, controlled movement. Three progressions make it harder: flip your palm up, angle the roller across your body, or combine both.

Most people with that pinching feeling in their shoulder joint have tight lats. I know I do. This is my favorite move to stretch it out. Go to all fours. We're going to do a lat rollout. Karate chop the roller. Take that karate chop hand, extend it, twist your ear on that same side and stretch all the way to your hip back and forth. Go nice and slow. Now, if you want to intensify this, if it's too easy, flip your palm facing up. It's going to get even more difficult. Go nice and slow again. Don't intensify this fast. You want to intensify nice and slow. If you want to make it even more difficult, change this direction of the roller to 45-degree angle. Karate chop across your body to your other shoulder. Let that shoulder blade roll around the rib cage. Stretch that lat out. And yes, for all you crazy people out there that really want to get that lat stretched out, you can go palm facing up. And stretch across your body as well. Just make sure as you do it, you go slow so you don't put pressure on your shoulder. You're welcome.
