This is Why So Many Get “Stuck” in the 2nd Month of Their Plan

Glenn Dawson explains why people hit a weight-loss plateau in month two. After losing 20 pounds in month one, your body's calorie needs rise and your metabolism shifts, making the same diet ineffective. Your plan has to change as your body changes.

Losing weight is easy the first month. I'm sure you've done it before. Many of us have lost weight the first month, but somehow in that second month we get stuck. We'll lose 15 pounds the first month, maybe even 10 the first week, and then month 2 comes around and we get stuck. Today I'm gonna explain why and how to get unstuck and make sure it doesn't have to happen. But first you gotta know that 80% of your results comes from your meal plan, right? We all know this. Everyone knows that you can't outwork bad eating habits. But have you ever tested it? When was the last time you ever stopped cutting your calories and stopped doing cardio and just monitored your weight? Probably never, right? Most of us, we don't have the faith in our meal plan that it's gonna do what it's supposed to do. Now if you don't, I have a special gift for you at the end of this video, so stay tuned. But first, let's take a typical female, someone that we deal with on a regular basis at Reset U Fitness. This woman is 5'7", 185 pounds, 37% body fat, and she's got 68 pounds of fat and 166 pounds of lean mass, or bone, muscle, organs, whatever's left besides fat. So this woman is in the obese range. Now, if she diets, picks any diet, right? Anybody can diet. You can pick any diet you want. You can go vegan. You could just sit on the treadmill, do whatever you want. You're probably gonna lose weight. Let's just say hypothetically that this woman was in our Reset You program and she got the same kind of results that most of our people that we work with get. In that month, she lost 20 pounds. So now she's 165. Her body fat percentage, which I don't even have up here, is now 30%. This is why it's live video, everyone. Pounds of fat down 47. She's down to 47 pounds of fat when she had 68 before. And her lean mass actually went up by a pound. So she gained a pound of muscle in this month. So, Is the plan for this woman who's 185 pounds, 37% body fat, gonna be the same as it is for this woman? We'll call her Sherry. Is Sherry in month 1 gonna have the same plan as Sherry in month 2? It doesn't make sense, would it? They're completely different. Even though this is still Sherry, even though she's the same person, she has same personality, she's gone through the same things, she probably likes Game of Thrones, she probably, you know, eats ketchup and mustard on her hot dogs. It's the same Sherry. Now she's 20 pounds less, and when you have less fat, your body becomes more insulin sensitive. So you can soak up more of the energy from the food that you eat. So this Sherry can actually eat more calories. On top of that, she has an extra pound of muscle, so her metabolism is a little bit faster rested, so she can have even more calories. What's even crazier is that 30%, she's right at that level where she's gonna be healthy. So in one month, she went from in the obese range in the healthy range, just on the cusp of healthy in 1 month. Now, do you think healthy people who are in shape, who have gained muscle, require the same kind of fuel as unhealthy people that are overweight trying to lose weight? No, no, your body's gonna burn different types of foods, different types of calories. You're gonna need different amounts of nutrients. You're probably gonna have different habits. You might even work out a little bit more. So what happens is we get stuck. We'll start a program, say it's paleo, or we'll do keto, and we'll follow that until completion when that's really not how our bodies work. See, it's not a point A to B problem. It's a point A to point A1. That's it. Point A to A1. Your meal plan will get you from here to here. Then once you're this completely different person, completely different, if you saw these two women, even though it's only a month apart, if you saw both of them, Sherry before, and somehow you got a time machine and you had Sherry after, she went back in time and saw herself, put them together, they would look completely different, right? One's healthy, one's not healthy. It's only a month that separates them. That's only gonna get you to point A1. They're gonna have two completely different meal plans. Their bodies have changed, their hormones have changed, the amount of calories they can burn on a day have changed, their energy levels have changed. Everything has changed in this one month. So here's the thing, when you're trying to lose weight, trying to get to that ideal body, you have to consistently keep evolving your nutrition for the new person that you're going to be. You can't get stuck on the same stuff that worked for you here. It has to evolve to this new person. Now guys, if that was helpful or you need help, maybe you are stuck and you're in month 2 and you don't know how to lose weight and you're stuck, click the link above my head. One of us here at ResetU will get on a one-on-one phone call with you where we will dial in your entire program from start to finish for you at zero cost. It doesn't cost you anything. We'll go over your health history. We'll go over what may have been, you know, stopping you from getting to your goals, how long it'll take you to get to your goal, and then the actual plan for you. So you have complete confidence moving forward. This plan's actually gonna work. It's gonna get you results. Any questions, drop them in the comments. And then guys, if this brought you value or you know somebody who keeps getting stuck in month 2, they can always lose month, month 1, but month 2, not so much. Make sure you share this with them. Thanks.
