In this motivational monologue, Glenn Dawson of Reset U Fitness argues that the most alarming aspect of the COVID‑19 pandemic is not politics or the virus itself, but the widespread reaction of an unhealthy population. Citing CDC data, he explains that COVID‑19 disproportionately harms people who are elderly, obese, or suffer from obesity‑related illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. He links chronic gut inflammation—common in obesity—to a taxed immune system, and points out that 71 % of Americans are overweight or obese, making the U.S. especially vulnerable. Dawson then frames the pandemic as a “storm” and urges viewers to take personal control by: (1) cooking at home using anti‑inflammatory oils (coconut, avocado) and choosing grass‑fed or pasture‑raised foods; (2) cutting alcohol, which he says destroys immunity; (3) adopting home‑based workouts, leveraging the abundance of free online fitness content; and (4) restructuring daily habits to lower inflammation, boost metabolism, and lose body fat. He emphasizes that these lifestyle changes can improve immune function, reduce COVID‑19 risk, and improve overall health, concluding with a call to action to “plug the holes” in one’s life and navigate the storm together.

Corona craziness. Hi, I'm Glenn Dawson with Reset U Fitness, and I want to talk about the craziest thing going on right now that I find the most insane about the coronavirus. No, it has nothing to do with politics, it has nothing to do with Dr. Fauci, has nothing to do with any of that stuff. The craziest thing I see going on with coronavirus right now is everyone's reaction to it. See, the coronavirus, or COVID-19, is stated by the CDC to affect people that are elderly, and that have obesity-related illnesses. In fact, people that are out of shape and have obesity-related illnesses like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or just plain old obesity, those people are the people that are being affected the most, have the highest death rate, and are getting sick the most. Well, it's very simple when you think about it. See, your immune system has to deal a lot with inflammation, and we have this like foreign pathogen self-defense mechanism. A lot of it stems from our gut. And when you're obese, you literally have a chronically inflamed gut, meaning your immune system is being taxed all the time. That's how you got there in the first place. Now, one of the things you got to realize is America is getting hit harder than any other place in the world right now. It makes a lot of sense because 71% of the American population is overweight or obese. And that's also from the CDC in 2018. That being said, if a majority of people are unhealthy and sick and obese and only 29% are actually healthy, then why are so many people getting in their feelings, getting depressed because they have to stay at home and drinking a lot more, eating more bad food, ordering in? How does that make sense? It's literally like the whole world is in their own ship and there's a wild storm raging right now. And a lot of people are trying to fix their ship and say, your ship has holes in it, it's leaking. Instead of fixing the hole, because that'd be the hard thing to do, the storm's going up. All you want to do is complain about the storm and just keep bucketing water out, just keep bucketing water out and keep bucketing water out and then hope that you make it to the shore safely. Now, every single person is going through a storm right now, and you get to make a decision. The best thing for your immune system is probably start cooking food from home, right? This is the best opportunity for you to start cooking food from home and use coconut oil, use avocado oil, cook your food in healthy oils that aren't inflammatory, eat foods that are grass-fed or pasture-raised, raise your diet level, increase the amount of foods and meals that you can make. Think about this real quick. How many people do you know over the age of 30 with a six-pack that don't know how to cook from home? You're right, most of them meal prep or know how to cook, and that's an awesome skill that you have the opportunity to learn now. Restaurants are either closed or they're kind of closed, or you can order in. Everything is pointing to you learning this amazing skill. It's gonna not just make you healthier, save your life maybe so you don't get coronavirus or die from coronavirus, but you're also going to look and feel better too. Lower inflammation, increase your metabolism, lose a ton of body fat. This is an amazing opportunity for you. On top of that, we're drinking more alcohol, we're staying up late watching Netflix and binging, and we're just being overall depressed. This is an amazing opportunity for you to learn how to work out from home. Most people have a fear of the gym. They have a fear of going out and trying new things. Every single person online right now is giving away free workouts. Take advantage of them. Restructure life. And then again, with the alcohol, I get it. It's depressing. Everyone is in a storm right now. Alcohol destroys your immune system, kills it. So if you truly, truly want to be healthy and avoid getting sick, it's going to take more than a mask to do that. Why don't you start with the thing that's, you know, the number one cause, obesity-related illnesses, chronic inflammation. Stop drinking alcohol to fix your problems and take control of your problems right now. Now guys, if this video brought you value, make sure you like it, make sure you share it with your friends, and make sure you take back control of your life. Plug the hole, get your ship to the shore safely, and we'll all get out of this storm together. Thanks.
