Codecademy chapter lead 2023 intro video

Hi, my name is Grace and I'm a third year computer science student at Western University. I'm a proud chapter leader for Codecademy's 2023 Chapters pilot program and I choose to volunteer with Codecademy because I have used the platform myself to learn and develop my coding skills and I think it's a great way to strengthen the computer science community at Western while encouraging a safe space to learn and grow. I also lead the Women in Computer Science Club and the Google Developer Students Chapter and I think that through our initiatives and partnerships we can encourage students of all backgrounds to learn about a range of technical topics, gain new skills through hands on workshops, events, talks and project building activities. Finally, we want to strengthen and enable these students to apply their skills to build solutions for local problems. We aim to be the destination for students to advance their skills, career and network and give back to our community by helping others learn.
