A short YouTube advice clip by Guillaume Black explaining why many beginner property investors fail. He argues beginners treat property as a hobby instead of a business, try to cut costs on essential services, and hold unrealistic, vague goals (e.g., expecting to become a millionaire quickly). He emphasizes persistence: success requires staying in the game and having a clear strategy.

Most beginners never scale past their one deal because they treat property like a hobby, not a business. They get excited, but they just dab in and out. And they never get to create any momentum. They don't realize that there is a cost of doing business, a cost of doing deals. They want to cut corners, do it on the cheap. They want to save on solicitors, on builders, save on insurance. In the best case they never get off the ground. And in the worst case, they lose their church. And secondly, I'd say most beginners have got irrelistic and vague goals. They want to become a millionaire within 12 months. It's delusional. They don't know how to get there. They don't have a clear strategy that aligns with their goals. They expect everything to come for them. They don't try anything long enough and they want the results in three weeks. And they never get anywhere. So it's not a get rich quick, it's a get rich for sure. Everyone can win the game and to win the game you have to stay in the game.
