Hi, I'm Guy Kawasaki and this is a sponsored video. I'm here with Jean Paul from Breitling and it's a very exciting day. I'm a big Breitling fan. I up till today use a Breitling emergency. And we're here for the introduction of the new brightly fantastic smartwatch. So can you tell us a little about the watch?
Yes. Thank you, Guy. It's a great pleasure for me to have you here in the Breitling flagship sport for the official World one launch of the first Breitling connected Chronographs. You know that it's a little bit of special product. It's not a so called smartwatch in a sense that it's not another turnaround to your smartphone. It's a real Breitling Swiss Smith chronograph, which is working perfectly as a standalone device with real hands, real dye water resistant case, including the two ohms power reserve. But when it's connected to a smartphone, that makes your life much easier. It's really the watch. The Breitling chronograph remains a master, but when it's connected, that can make your life much easier. That was the idea of Breitling because functionality is really a key word in our instruments for professional slogan beside strong aesthetic and performance precision. And that's why we introduced this year the first Connected Breitling watch.
So this connected Breitling watch, does it notify me when a text message comes in sometimes?
Yeah, yeah, it can, yeah.
And you know, one of the challenges of this is you have various dials and then you have to turn it to set the date and all that. So now everything is on the watch. It talks to, it's on the phone, talks to the watch and done both ways.
Yes. First of all, we have a lot of functions in our watches and sometimes it's not so easy to activate everything from the crown and pushes. But when using the app, you can first set the alarm, set the time zone, change the time zone. If you fly from Zurich to New York like I did yesterday, just to press swap on your phone and you will have the change of the time zone. Your second time zone will become your local time zone very easily when you are running or flying and you measure times lapse, or when you fly, you have the takeoff landing time to fill your logbook that can be immediately downloaded to your iPhone, sent through email in an Excel format. So that will make your life much more easier. But the watch is still the master. It's a very well positioned product. It's on your wrist. But regarding the interface, you cannot compete with a smartphone because it's big touchscreen. So using the two devices for what they do best, you can do 1, 1, 3. That's the idea behind that. Using the connectivity in a Breitling watch.
I wish I could program my car setting with a phone.
Yeah. I mean, the same frustration is with a car. Exactly.
Yeah. Check teeth rooms, stupid menu system just to change when the locks go on. I wish we could do that. So you're telling us that this watch will capture data, send it to the phone. But I have to confess, of all the functionality of this watch, I probably use 10%, right?
Yeah.
Is that probably true of most people?
Yeah, but it all depends on. But for me, what was really interesting is of course, during the 18 months of development of the product, we had some bugs. We changed. I was really annoyed when I had to leave my watch on the watchmaker's bench to make that adjustment. You get used to that. All these functions when you are driving, when you are flying, or when you are just walking with your suitcases. Cell phone in your. In your pocket. You have a phone call. You just have a look at it. Oh, it's my wife. Maybe I have to call back. If it's Charlene, no problem. I can hold. Here, you see these kind of things, you get used to this very comfortable function.
Very much so. So availability Tonight. Tonight.
Yep.
Price?
8,900 US dollars. US dollar.
Okay.
And.
Okay, I have that asked. So now you obviously can use any watch that reitling makes. So what is your favorite now?
The next one to come.
It's like asking me which is your favorite child. Yeah, yeah. Okay.
No, no, I really. If I would keep just one, I would keep the. I would keep the 1953 Navitimer.
Yeah.
You know, this much adolescent to compute flight calculations was already called in 1952. A flight computer before. A long time before microchips existed, but it's already a flight computer.
So now we're going to do a little speed round.
Okay.
Very little to do with watches. It's more insights into you.
Me?
I gave you two choices. Tell me which one you like.
Okay.
Okay. So Macintosh. Windows.
Windows.
Seriously? You're kidding me. You're killing me. Okay. IOS. Android.
Android, of course, Android.
Okay. How about Mercedes or Porsche?
Porsche.
How about Sean Connor?
Sorry? For you, I'm driving a Porsche.
What kind?
A Carrera 4S.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
How about Sean Connery? Daniel Craig?
Sean Connery, definitely.
Okay. How about New York or Los Angeles?
New York.
Oh, you are metropolitan kind of guy. That's all we want to know. Anything else? We got price, we got availability. We got the feature set. That's all we need to know.
I think. I really. I really believe that you will be very pleased to use the watch, the exhaustbate B55. Because I think it's something which is missing when you don't have it.
I think so too. I will tell more people about this watch than John Travolta. How's that?
Okay. Thank you. Okay.
Is that a deal?
Yeah, that is. Thank you, guys.
Thank you. Alrighty. Thank you. Guy Kawasaki, New York City at the Breitling Boutique. And this is the introduction of the new Breitling watch. I can't wait to get one. So thank you. Okay.
Okay.
