#Exospace B55 by Breitling - training

Guy Kawasaki and Anthony demo the Breitling B55 Exospace, a connected watch that pairs with your phone via Bluetooth. The app lets you set time zones, alarms, and timers, and the watch shows caller ID and four types of notifications. Battery lasts about one to two months.

So, hi, this is Guy Kawasaki. I'm in the Breitling boutique in New York City. This is a sponsored video just to be fully disclosed. And I'm sitting here with Anthony, who's got his Breitling glove on because I learned that when you sell a Breitling, you gotta wear gloves. So this is the new B55 Exospace connected Breitling watch. This is the introduction. So first of all, how do these two things communicate?
So the first time ever, what we chose to do is make a watch with the concept of being a smartwatch. This is activated through Bluetooth. So when you first get the watch and you download the application, it will allow you to sync up the watch to the phone. When you do that, it comes up with a special code so no one else can hook up their phone to your watch. You plug in that code into the application and then boom, you're synced up.
Okay, and now that I'm synced up, so I have, I have an aerospace emergency. And one of the challenges of this is that there's so many functions. Chronometer, timer, alarm, all this kind of stuff. And you're always using the crown and you're like this and then you're like that and you're pulling it out and all that. So this iOS app, and I guess Android also correct, replaces all that it does.
And if you think your emergency has a lot of functions, this actually has 13 different functionalities to the watch. But with the, with the application, it really makes it very easy and user friendly to use. The watch this gives you, this is the dashboard right here. It allows you to get to any functionality of the watch by simply clicking Time 2. I can press it, set my different time zones. So for New York or Los Angeles or anywhere else you would like in the world, it gives you a list of cities. But if I just want to switch the times and I have my phone in my hand, because the spacer will always walk around our phone in our hand, we can just hit swap time and then right away the watch is just swapping to your other time zone. So this allows you to have all the applications right in front of you of the watch, right on your phone.
Now, how about if I land in a city that I've never set up before as T1 or T2, so I land in Dubai.
So when you land, you would go to your time and obviously the time on your phone will be different. So all you'll have to do is go to Synchro now and it will connect with the watch and resync to the time that you're now in. Okay. So it's very simple. And then you can simply just go back to the dashboard.
Because I gotta tell you, as much as I love this watch, when you're screwing around with 12 time zones, there.
Can be a lot.
Yeah, yeah.
And that was the whole purpose of this, to really give you a watch with the capability of doing many things, but have it very user friendly with the application. Now to use the chronograph, to use the countdown timer, it's all operated through the phone. But what you can actually do is set up your times that you want on the phone. So if you want your countdown timer for a flight that you know is going to be eight or nine hours, you can set up the timer just by hitting timer, set it up and then sync it. And it will be set up right from your watch for nine hours or 10 hours. You don't have to pull out the crown, press this pusher, press that pusher and reset it. It's all set for you.
And then I trigger it. When the plane leaves the ground, I start the timer there.
So with that you would go to the timer and then you would start it. But you don't have to worry about pulling out the crowd.
Okay, now how about when I get an email or a text message and my phone is set to silent, so I don't really know somebody call, I don't have a text message, so get a little vibration on my wrist.
Absolutely. So you go right down to the bottom and you go to notifications and it has four different notifications. You can have, you can have phone call, message, email, or if you have a meeting. And from you it's your preference if you want the vibrating, if you want the buzzer, if you want both, or even if you want none. So for me personally I'm getting emails all day. I would leave that off, but for phone calls I leave it on vibrate. So once you have that all set up, just do synchro now and then you're all set.
Now if someone calls, who's in my address book, does it identify who the caller is?
It will. So if I call you, it will come up as Anthony.
Okay.
If I'm not in your phone book, it will come up with my phone number.
Okay. Okay, what else?
If you get a text message, it will allow you to see that it was a message. And you can also scroll through all your notifications and you can clear them out if you want. So you can leave them in there. Or you can choose to clear it.
And the text message says the number that it came from.
No, it will just say a message.
Okay.
And then this allows you to also have multiple alarms. And you can set it up. If you want your alarm to go off at 6:30am Monday through Friday, but not on the weekend, you can set it up for that as well and then sync it right to the Watch.
Now, as a former user of an Apple Watch, one of the pains of that thing was like, every night, you had to charge it every night. Now, obviously, Apple Watch has a lot more apps, you know, so it's kind of different. But how often? Let's say with the settings that I have now, which is I want buzz when I get text message and buzz.
When I get a phone call. Well, how long between if you're not using the Watch or five months if you're using it. But that's not using the Watch at all if you're using it the way you know you and I would be using it, one to two months without a charge. And then just like a phone, this has a battery percentage right on the watch.
Okay.
So once you get to a certain percentage, once you go under 25%, it will actually let you know that it needs a charge. And then once you get to 10%, it will actually, it will slow down to seconds where the second.
