Transcript excerpt from a YouTube video (uploaded by Guy Kawasaki) discussing San Quentin/California Department of Corrections policy on hostage situations. The speakers state that the State of California Department of Corrections does not recognize releasing prisoners in exchange for hostages and emphasize efforts to secure release and safety through other means.

Can you just say that again?
We do not want to hear hostage policy. The State of California Department of Corrections does not recognize releasing you for the release of a hostage. However, we will do everything humanly possible to obtain new release and make sure that you're safe. So if you're Ghazi, can we trade her for Guy? If the court is willing to do it. What if we recognize Ozzy? I happen to recognize hostages.
I never had that briefing before I went on a tour.
What if we.
