A speaker at a Starbucks VIA Ready Brew introduction (brunch event) explains what VIA is: Starbucks instant coffee made from top-quality beans. She states Starbucks sources the top 3% of the world’s Arabica coffee under Starbucks Shared Planet guidelines, that the coffee is naturally roasted without preservatives and then processed into an instant. The speaker highlights the Italian Roast blend (dark roast, Latin American coffees) and recommends pairings (biscuits, muffins, fruit, apple cobbler with Colombian, chocolate beignet with Italian roast), mentions hands-on brewing demos and aroma/ground sample comparisons during the event.

Beyond just a great cup of coffee, there's so many things that you can use the product for. And, you know, I guess, you know, I think about, like, sipping on, you know, via the table. And what we're trying first is Italian roast. You know, what is via? It's Starbucks coffee. Starbucks goes and sources the top 3% of the world, Arabica coffee. You know, this particular coffee is purchased through our Starbucks Shared Planet guidelines. So really making sure that it is the best coffee possible and really sourced in a very responsible way. And then the coffee is roasted. It's roasted in the same way we roast all of our coffee. It's naturally roasted, doesn't have any chemicals, it's free of preservatives. And then the coffee is brewed and as Cliff alluded to, and then it's created into an instant. So when I think about tasting via, what is it? It's a great cup of Starbucks coffee. And that is, for me, someone in the coffee department who is very passionate about every coffee product that we have, really want you to really understand that that is what we're here today, is to celebrate another way to enjoy Starbucks co. Now, the two types of coffees that we have for you to enjoy today, the first one that they brought out was our Italian roast. So we have two options at the table. Italian roast is what we'll start with. So what is Italian roast? For those of you that have that at home, it is a nice dark roast. So a smooth cup of coffee, a blend of Latin American coffees, really known for having a very roasty sweetness in the cup and should pair really well with the wide range of biscuits that you have or the muffins that you have and fruit as well. So a great cup. And then through dessert, just to give you a little kind of taste of what's to come, is for dessert, we'll have two different dessert options, depending on what you pick. So depending on if you pick the apple cobbler, the Columbia that we have for you today would be a great pairing for that in terms of bringing out a lot of the kind of nuttiness that's available in Colombian. And then also those chocolate lovers out there, we have a chocolate beignet, so the Italian roast, exceptionally well with that. So we'll actually have the opportunity, after we enjoy brunch, to kind of prepare the coffee together. So if, like, since you haven't had an opportunity to create via, then that will be the opportunity. I also wanted to make sure, I think there'll be some samples that will be passed around kind of throughout the afternoon, you'll be able to compare and smell. So for me, when I have the opportunity to get my hands on and compare what instant coffee has been before we introduce Via Ready Brew, you'll really get that experience of what instant coffee has smelt like up to this point, what it has looked like, and then compare that to the ground sample that we have from Via. You give it a smell. And I talked to many of you coming in as Starbucks fans, it smells like Starbucks coffee. And so please kind of get your hands on that smell and take a look. And of course, make sure that you get to enjoy that Via throughout your lunch. So I think with that, we have lunch coming out now.
