A short YouTube unboxing video (uploaded by Guy Kawasaki) in which Noemi Kawasaki introduces and unboxes a Sony 400mm f/2.8 lens. She compares its size and speed to a Sony 100–400mm f/4.5–5.6 lens, shows included accessories (straps, keys, case), and demonstrates a teleconverter that effectively doubles focal length to 800mm for long-range shooting.

Hey, guys, it's Noemi Kawasaki here. And today we will be unboxing this 400 millimeter Sony lens. We originally have been shooting with this 100 to 400 millimeter lens, which has a lens speed of 4.5 to 5.6. This one is 2.8, so it's faster. So yeah, we're going to unbox this. Okay. Okay. So this is pretty much just like the general information, you know, safety handbooks and I don't know, this is a strap. You know, if you're like, wanna strap the camera around your neck, you can attach this to the camera and it's just easier to carry around and hold. So let's see. Okay, So here we go. It comes in this suitcase looking box, protects the. The camera itself. So this is very. So as you can see, this is what the box looks like. It just says 400 millimeter Sony and pretty. It's not too big. It's a little bulky, but it's not too bad. There's key slots if you want to lock it. Be extra safe, but you pretty. Yeah. So, okay, if you want to open the box, there's these little clips, and all you have to do is press the button, slide up, press the button, slide down to close it. This is the lens. As you can see, it's very large. So you know, it's very protected in this box. Here's another strap. This one has a Sony logo on it. This one's just, you know, it's a little bit smaller. This is a larger one. Here we go. So. Oh, these are the keys for if you were to lock your box and be extra safe about your camera. Okay, so this is. Okay, so as you can see, this is the lens. It's very like I have. This is my hand size compared to this, it's very, very big. So this is the difference. So you got this one. Put this right here. This is the 100 to 400 millimeter lens. And this is the 400 millimeter. Holy. It's crazy big. So let's see, we'll open it up now. Okay, so there you go. Get this plastic off. This is the look they got, you know, the COVID on it, protect its lens. Wow, this is very large. Take the plastic off. So as you can see, this is the outside casing of it. Once again, it's very large in comparison to this. Here's the size difference. So we'll take this. Holy. Shoot. Okay, we got this. Take this off, you screw this and then you pop it off. Okay. Slide it on the bag. Here's another. Look here. We'll put the thing on. Don't want it to get all dusty. Here's another. Hold on. Okay, so here we go again. This is the size, this is the lens. So if you were to have it at the same level, that's the size difference. So, yeah, We'll just put this back on just to protect it. And as. And here we have this teleconverter. And it pretty much. This is 400 millimeter. If you were to use this, it would make it to 800, which is a lot. It zooms in. The zoom will be really, really strong. When this is added to the 400 millimeter lens, we'll open this. So once again, there's another, like, info package. And here is this. It comes in this small little sip. Zip up. This is very tiny. So I guess you put this here. So if you want to make it. If you wanted to shoot farther, like you were shooting, I don't know, wildlife far away or something like that, instead of using the 400 millimeter, you could add this to the back, which would make it 800 millimeter, a lot farther shot range. That's it. Yeah. This once again is the 100 to 400 millimeter and the 400 milliliter lens by Sony.
