In this short monologue, the speaker outlines a set of practical, evidence‑informed actions to both reduce exposure to the coronavirus and strengthen the body’s immune defenses. The advice is divided into two main categories: (1) external preventive measures—frequent hand‑washing, avoiding face‑touching, and regular cleaning/disinfecting of surfaces; and (2) internal health‑supporting habits—getting sufficient sleep, staying well‑hydrated while limiting dehydrating drinks, avoiding highly processed, sugary foods and refined vegetable oils, consuming immune‑supportive foods such as vegetables, fruit, bone broth, probiotics, herbs and spices, spending time outdoors in low‑crowd settings, and maintaining mental health through consistent routines, limited stressful information intake, and mindfulness practices. The speaker emphasizes that these combined physical and mental strategies can help maintain a robust immune system during the pandemic.

Hi everyone. I wanted to talk to you today about boosting your immunity during the coronavirus pandemic. So the most impactful things that you can do to prevent the spread and avoid exposure to coronavirus is to wash your hands often, keep your hands away from your face to avoid transferring germs, and then cleaning and disinfecting frequently, which I'm sure you've heard all of these things. And another really important aspect of this is to keep our immune system strong from the inside out as well. So The most beneficial thing that we can do for our immune system at any time is to get enough sleep. And then the next thing that we can do is to stay hydrated, so drinking enough water to flush out any toxins that are in our bodies, as well as avoiding drinks that are dehydrating like coffee and alcohol, caffeine, as much as possible. The next thing that we can do is avoid highly processed foods and things that have a lot of sugar and highly processed vegetable oils in them. These create an inflammatory response in our bodies which negatively impact our immune function. The next thing that we can do is eat immune-boosting foods. So these are the foods that you hear about all the time that are really healthy for you. So things like vegetables, fruit, bone broth, probiotics, herbs and spices, all of that kind of thing. The next thing that we can do is to get outside, and of course in a space that doesn't have a lot of people around. But being outside in fresh air is really great for our bodies as well as for our mental health. That brings me to mental health. Mental health is really important in immune function, so having strong mental health can actually help have stronger immune function. Aiming for a consistent routine can really help ground our nervous system, as well as limiting and setting boundaries for how much information we take in that might create stress or anxiety around the coronavirus pandemic. And then the other thing that we can do is to practice mindfulness. So these are some things that we can do for both our mental and physical health during this time that will boost immunity. Thanks for listening, and stay healthy and safe out there, everyone. Thank you.
