The video is a scripted, multi‑character sketch set in the Garrison household during the COVID‑19 quarantine. Seven people (parents Rob and Jill, siblings Hadlee, Abby, and the narrator, plus Hadlee’s fiancé Todd and Abby’s boyfriend Dave) discuss how they have been rationing food, toilet paper, and sanity for four months. They praise each other’s increased contributions to chores, highlight Abby as the emotional rock, and note political chatter about a return to work. The narrator describes a daily checklist system for meals and suspects someone is stealing food, but hesitates to name anyone. The segment ends with a concern that Mom (Jill) has been missing for several hours, adding a note of anxiety. The tone mixes humor, candid frustration, supportive encouragement, and a hint of paranoia, reflecting the stress and camaraderie of a family in prolonged lockdown.
Chapters
It's August 23rd. We've been rationing food. We've been rationing toilet paper. We've been rationing our sanity. It's been 4 months now. Um, we've got 7 people in the house. That's 2 extra mouths to feed considering there's 5 Garrisons. There's Rob and Jill, which are Mom and Dad, Hadlee, Abby, me. Don't forget Hadlee's fiancé Todd, Abby's boyfriend Dave, I think that they should get their rations cut in half because they have another mouth to feed that they've brought into our house, but that's neither here nor there. Um, it's getting weird. We're, uh, we're struggling, but we're figuring it out.
I feel like you've all done a really good job picking up the slack around here, like helping out with chores, dishes, laundry, sweeping. Like, everyone's done a really good job helping out. Good job, guys.
Yeah, it's, it's been really hard for all of us. I'd say Abby's probably doing, doing the best out of anyone. She's definitely our rock. She's been grounding us a lot. She's been doing really well.
Oh my God.
See, this is way overblown. Trump says we're gonna be back to work like next week.
So as you can see, we've been super diligent with our rationing. We've like, each day we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner and what everyone's allowed to eat, and then you check your box off when you're done. I think it's a really good, um, a really good strategy to have, especially during these trying times. I know like people are running out of food because no one can go anywhere and no one can get groceries. So it's been really helpful. Um, we've done a really good job, but I, I think someone— I think someone's stealing food. I'm not sure who it is. I don't want to like call out anyone, but it's fucking dumb.
Has anybody seen Mom? I haven't seen her in like 4 hours.
I think like all things considered, we're all keeping a super, uh, like level head and we're just like staying super calm and sane through like this craziness. Guys, we're out!
