Hannah Keeley speaks to her younger self as a new mom, offering four messages: you are a good mother, this season is temporary, small actions matter and are blessed, and God sustains you. She weaves in scripture, personal stories, and practical encouragement for overwhelmed mothers.

So I came upon a picture of myself the other day. Goodness, it had to be like 20, 25 years ago. And there I was, brand new mom, baby mama. I was a mama, just a baby. And I was looking at that picture. Just the overwhelm that I must have felt at that time, that I remember feeling at that time. And I wish I could go back. If I could go back to that baby mama. Sitting in the rocking chair with a newborn baby in one arm and a toddler in the other, I realized there are four things I would want to tell her. Here's the big question. How are these average, everyday moms getting radical results in their lives? How are they able to transform their health, money, families, homes, and have fun doing it? The trick. Check this out. We're not average. I'm Hannah Keeley and I'm going to spill our secrets and answer your questions right now in that mom show. So what are those four things? Because I would love if I could just get this message through to any baby mama like I was, who is just trying to figure this thing out. She feels like she's failing more than she's winning. She feels overwhelmed. And I could see it like, like in that face. Yeah, I must have been probably 30, 40 pounds heavier than I am right now. And that. That face that has a smile. But you can see behind the smile, you know, you can see the frustration and the anxiety and. And oh, my God, somebody help me. Like, hurry and take the picture before I freak out. I could just sense it. I remember so clearly what it felt like. And I wish I could just go back. And of course, I can't do that. But maybe there is a mom right now who is struggling in that. Struggling and feeling like she's losing ground, feeling like. Like it's just the grind. And I would tell her these four things. First of all, I would tell her, you're a good mom. You're a good mom. It's such an important thing to realize that the reason we often think that we're bad moms and we're not doing enough and our kids deserve better is actually proof positive that we are a good mom. Because if we didn't have that, that idea that, oh, my gosh, I want to show up the best I can for my children, then honestly, we wouldn't care if you were a bad mom. You wouldn't care how you showed up for your kids. But because you're a good mom, you do care. You want to be the best. And that's why you hear that inner Critic always telling you, you're not doing enough. You're a loser mob. You're failing. Maybe that inner critic needs to shut up and maybe listen. Maybe you need to listen to that other voice, that voice of truth that is telling you, you know what? You showed up today. You took the time to hold your child. Yeah, it's tough. But you keep on showing up. And because of that, you're a good mom. That is definitely something I would want to tell her. And I want you to know that, too. You're a good mom. Don't let that mean girl inside of you tell you anything else. And imagine this. Imagine this. Would you tell your best friend, your sister, someone you love, who is a brand new baby mama? Would you tell her what you often tell yourself? Probably not. Listen to the voice of kindness. Listen to the voice of compassion. That voice that. That knows that sometimes it can be hard. But you, you're still doing it, right? You're a good mom. The second thing I would tell that, that baby mama in that picture is, this is a chapter. This is a chapter. And it's important that you live this chapter right now and not try to push away the pain, not try to distract yourself from it. But. But you are strong enough to sit in this time, to embrace this moment. And if you couldn't live fully in this chapter, you're never going to fulfill your entire story. You see, our stories are so much more powerful than the small chapters that we try to distract ourselves from. And I would tell her, I would tell her, this is a chapter. You may think that this is how it's going to be for the rest of your life. And that's how it feels when you are a brand new mom. When you're struggling, you feel like, oh my gosh, this is my new life. Chaos, frustration, overwhelm, disorganization. You feel like that's like you're stuck in, like this eternal Groundhog Day, you know? But the truth is, it's just a chapter. And sometimes when we're so immersed in it, we think it is eternal. But it's not. Before you know it, they are walking around, they are going to school, they are graduating, they are building their own lives. And if you did not prove your strength of character and your resiliency and your power in those small chapters, you wouldn't be able to live out the complete story. See, the story of your life is not always like, there was this woman and she had babies and life was awesome. And then, look, there she is. That's not a Story that's boring. A story has hills and valleys. A story has ups and downs. A story has a plot and a subplot and another subplot. A story has character and depth and meaning. And if we can live the joy in the valleys as much as we do on the mountaintops, if we can understand that these valleys are part of it and the mountaintops are part of it. And I don't have to change where I stand, stand according to my circumstances, I can stay in my power. I can stay in my faith. No matter what the circumstances are. Whether it's low or high or up or down or in or out or whatever the circumstances, I can stay in my power. I can do this because this is just a chapter, and I'm going to embrace this chapter, and I'm going to learn from this chapter. And I'm going to just dive head first into this chapter, become that person. It's not really what we do in life. It's who we become. And every chapter is just another step in the becoming process. And the third thing I would tell this baby mama, what you do matters. What you do matters. It does. Sometimes we think, okay, wow, I folded the laundry, fantastic. I made the bed, Hallelujah. But the truth, what we do matters. In Deuteronomy, it says, everything we put our hand to will prosper. And sometimes we think that, well, the big things that I put my hand to, that's what matters. The small things, whatever. But the truth is, everything that we put our hand to will prosper. And there is a blessing for over all of it. And I'm telling you, some of the smallest things we put our hands to are actually the biggest. That newborn baby, that dirty dish in the sink, that sock that's crumpled up and left in the corner. Some of the smallest things that we disregard and we think they're unimportant. It's actually part of the process that builds us, it creates us. And yes, what we do matters. It matters a lot. And the last thing I would tell her, this is probably the most important thing I would tell this baby mama. Breathe. Yeah, just breathe. So many times we live life, especially at this age, we're trying to figure things out, and life feels so overwhelming and we're so distracted, sometimes we just white knuckle it, you know, we just have such a tight grip on trying to cope that we don't understand that the true beauty happens when we let go, let go of the white knuckle grip and lean in to that power of God that sustains Us. Greater is he that is in you, baby mama, than he that is in the world. And I wish I could go back and tell her that. Girl, breathe. You got this. Yeah, it feels overwhelming. Yeah, it feels crazy right now. Yeah, I know some days you don't want to get out of bed. Breathe. You got this. You're going to get up, you're going to get dressed. You're going to make it through this day and you're going to make this day amazing because you showed up to it. Even when you feel like you couldn't. So girl, take a deep breath and just breathe. Come on, relax. Let go of the death grip. Unclench your butt cheeks. Like just, just chill. Breathe. It's not as do or die as you think it is. It's not as, as life threatening as. It's not as critical. You can relax, Relax. Enjoy this moment. Because you're never going to have it again. And you're probably like, thank God I'm not going to have it again. No, girl, no. Breathe. Because this moment, this moment with the little ones, this moment sitting there, I don't care, 30, 40 pounds overweight like I was, or 400 pounds frustrated, overwhelmed, it doesn't matter. What matters is you're there. You're in this moment. And God has chosen you for such a time as this. To build this moment and to bring the magic to this moment. Breathe. Realize what you have right now is a thousand times more important than what you had in the past and what you're imagining in the future. You have right now. This moment, this magical life giving moment. Let go, relax and breathe. That's what I would tell her. And I hope, I hope she's listening. I love you, mama. I hope this has encouraged you.
