Hannah Keeley argues there's no pause button to put your life on hold and that waiting for calm leads to burnout. She offers the Mom Mastery Method: AM and PM routines plus a plan you write the night before, rehearsed each morning to move from living by default to living by design.

This is a big problem for moms. We always think there's going to be a pause button. There's this imaginary pause button somewhere that as soon as this happens and life calms down, then I'm going to do fill in the blank. Well, mama, that pause button does not exist. But here's something that does. Here's the big question. How are these average, everyday moms getting radical results in their lives? How are they able to transform their health, money, families, homes, and have fun doing it? The trick. We're not average. I'm Hannah Keeley, and I'm going to spill our secrets and answer your questions right now in that mom show. Hey, I'm so excited you're hanging out with me. I am actually going down the road to visit my mama and my d. Daddy. That's right. I'm gonna go home and. And help out there, cook them some healthy meals, hang out, maybe watch some Hallmark channel with my mom, because, you know, that's. That's just what we do. And I was thinking about this pause button that moms have, and I'm also thinking that I'm kind of going over the speed limit excessively. So let me slow down here. I get excited when I talk to you. I can't help it. It. It just happens. So it's your fault. But there's this pause button that exists in a lot of mom's minds, and it's an imaginary pause button. Because here's what we think. I know life is crazy. I've got a bunch of kids, I'm running a business. I've got a thousand things going on, and I know life gets crazy. But we tend to think that there's this imaginary pause button. And as soon as that pause button is hit, then we're going to do those things that we have in the back of our mind that we're going to do someday. Let me give you an example. As soon as the kids are out of the house, then I can start to pursue that passion of mine. As soon as my toddler's potty trained, then I can start to spend more time exercising. As soon as we get this move done and unpack everything, get situated, then I can start taking care of myself. Here's the problem, though. That pause button does not exist. You don't have a pause button. What you do have is a wonderful, filled, crazy, bountiful, beautiful life that you need to learn how to navigate without a pause button. And I'm going to show you how to do that today. Because I spent way too Much time. And I see a lot of moms spending way too much time putting their dreams, their goals, their self care, their relationships on hold. Another example, as soon as the kids are older, my husband and I can focus on each other more and improve our marriage. Doesn't happen because there's no pause button. As soon as the child is potty trained, another one is involved, involved in, you know, YMCA sports. And there's always something, Always. You can guarantee that a mom's life is always going to be from one thing to the next with just enough time to catch your breath in between. Sometimes you don't even have that time to catch your breath. So here's what we do. First of all, I want you to get this mentality where instead of getting caught up in the soup, I'm the one sticking, stirring the pot. Let me explain that. I know that sounds kind of weird, but I think, you know, you're a mom. You wouldn't be listening to this if you weren't a mom. So you're gonna get this and you're gonna get this quickly. Because when you feel like you're caught up in the soup, you feel like you're just an ingredient in the mix that's going around and around and around and you can't catch your breath and things are crazy and oh my gosh, I got this. So much to do today. And you go to bed, you think, I didn't get anything done today. And oh, my to do list. Oh, my life. Oh, my craziness. Like, you go from one mess to the next and you feel like you can never catch up, right? You feel like if it. If I could just. You feel like you're on a merry go round. If someone could just pull the plug, please, for five minutes, and let me catch my breath and let me catch up with things. Let me declutter the house, let me get my life in order, let me get healthy. That's not gonna happen because the merry go round is gonna keep on going around. There's no plug you can unplug. There's no pause button you can set that's in your imagination. So what do we do? We have to stir the pot. We're not the. We're not the one in the soup I want. This is a mentality switch. This is like a paradigm shift. If you can get your mindset from thinking like you're the one being pushed around by life to the one who's actually holding that wooden spoon and stirring the pot, you're going to have so much More power, so much more authority, and so much more joy and productivity in your life. You have to get yourself in that position of, you know what, yeah, life is a little crazy, but I'm the one directing the craziness. Have you ever just watched an orchestra? Like, the violins are playing one thing and the horns are somewhere else, and then you have these, like, the wind instruments are going in a different direction and everyone's going, doing a different thing and playing different notes. And for some reason it all seems. Sounds beautiful. Right? That's what harmony is. Harmony is not one single note. That's stale, that's boring. Your life is not meant to be one single note. You can't isolate things like your personal health or your marriage or your home organization or your parenting. You can't isolate these things. It's an orchestra, but you're the one who's the conductor. You've got the baton or stick or little white sticky thing or whatever it is that it's called. You're the one who has the power to conduct the orchestra. So, yeah, things are playing in all different sections of your life. Different notes, different rhythms, different harmonies, all these different things going on. But instead of being the one who's completely complaining about, oh, my gosh, my life, the craziness of it all, step up and start stirring the pot. Hey, mama. We'll get right back to the podcast, but did you know there is an entire online university just for moms? If you're ready to get radical results in your life, just go to mommastery.com that's M O M M A S T E R-Y dot com. Make sure you check it out and take your free quiz again. That's mommastery.com M O M M A S T E R Y.com now back to the podcast. You need to be the one directing it, and I promise you, it can look the same, but your mindset is completely different. You go from being the one who's. Who's being stirred up to the one who's actually stirring the pot. You go from the one who's like being pushed around by life to the one who's directing your life. And that's a mentality switch. And it happens when you get up every morning. Now let's strike that. Strike that rewrite. It goes back to the night before. That's why I am such a firm believer in AM and PM routines. Now, if you don't know what I'm talking about, this is a vital part of the Mom Mastery method, which has been proven to help thousands of moms create joy and productivity in their life when they had Mom Fatigue syndrome. So it's a way to overcome that Mom Fatigue Syndrome. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just go to mommastery.com there's a video there show you all about the Mom Mastery Method. M O m m a s T-E-R-Y.com but that's why I'm such a firm believer in routines, primarily AM and PM routines. First, the PM routine. You would think it would start in the morning, but it doesn't. Your best day starts at night, so. So you've got to have a PM routine. And that is where you look at your map. And that's another step in the Mom Mastery Method. It stands for mundane Action Plan. A lot of you already know that you're in Mom Master University. But you have to look at not to do list is totally different. You have to look at your calendar, your map, your action plan where you've placed all the things you're going to do. Go through it in your mind, See where every activity is to going, going to fall and go ahead and plan it out the night before. Now in the next morning, what you're going to do. And this helps you step up as a conductor to be the one stirring the pot, to be the one directing it instead of the one being pushed around by it is. I want you to spend just a few minutes rehearsing. Think about how much time conductors spend rehearsing with the orchestra. You've got to do the same thing, Mom. You've got to rehearse your day. So every single morning, just spend a few minutes and go through it in your mind and say, okay, this is what my day is going to look like. It may not turn out that way. That's okay. Very rarely does it, but it gets you in the state of I am the one in charge. It's a mental shift that you've got to make because like I said, there's no pause button. Quit waiting on your life to go on pause. It's never, you know what's gonna, you know when it's gonna go on pause. When you die, baby. It's not because there's no pause button. And you're gonna be like, man, I've been putting this off until the kids get out of the house and. And now it's just too far gone. You're putting off your health, putting off your marriage, putting off your dreams, putting off your goals, putting off Your aspirations. And then you just go around in your sitting on your aspirations, waiting for the pause button. It doesn't happen. And then it gets too late to accomplish what God put you here to do. So step up, lady. Step up, friend. Step up and be that conductor. You've got to rehearse the day. Just spend a few minutes in the morning and you can even. I do this as I pray, I meditate and I spend just a few minutes rehearsing, rehearsing my day. This is what it's going to look like. This is going to be my attitude today. This is going to be my productivity level today. This is how I'm going to put away my clothes. This is how I'm going to make my follow up calls. This is how I'm going to teach my kids. I go into that mental state where I'm there and I'm doing it so that subconsciously I'm prepared for that day no matter what happens. Prepared because I've rehearsed it. If a conductor just stepped up and decided, you know what? I've never looked at this sheet music before. I've never worked with this orchestra. But hey, I got this. Chances are they're gonna make a lot of mistakes and chances are it's not gonna sound that pretty. So I want your life to be harmonious. I want your life to be beautiful. I want it to be an expression of everything God desires designed for you. That happens not by being pushed around by life. That's living by default, okay? That's living by default. It's wherever the, the current takes you. Well, guess what, baby, the current might just take you down a whirlpool. I don't want you to live by default. I want you to live by design. Where you're the one stirring the pot. You're the one conducting the orchestra. You are designing your life to fit who you are, which is a child of the most high God. You have got an amazing, abundant life to live. Jesus said so. He said I came that you would have life in abundance. You've got an abundant life to live. If you continue to live by default. And every day like, well, I don't know what today's going to bring, but I guess I'll just go along with it. No, ma', am, I ain't going to let that happen. I will show up at your doorstep. You better watch it. I'm not going to let that happen to you, girl. You're going to live life by design. You're going to plan it the night before you're going to rehearse it in the morning and you might think, hannah, it's just a day. Your life is nothing but a culmination of days. And here's what I know. If you can master the day, you can master your life. That's why it's called Mom Mastery University. We learn how to master the day so we can master our lives. And I guarantee you, if you step into that place where you're designing your day instead of living by default six months from now, a year from now, five years from now, girl, it is going to look so different because you're going to make time.
