Hannah Keeley tells Christian mothers that unfinished prayers and failed plans mean God isn't done yet. She uses Jeremiah 29:11 and the metaphor of a jigsaw puzzle to argue that God's plans operate across spiritual, emotional, and physical dimensions, and that what looks like failure is just the in-between season before harvest.

So what do you do when your plans fail? Like, what do you do when you are believing for something, praying for it, like, working hard for it, and it doesn't come through? Well, I know this, that sometimes when our plans don't come through the way we thought they were going to come through, maybe those plans aren't done yet. You see, God is still at work. And if you're in that place in life where it's like, man, this is really shaking me. I thought it was going to happen this way, and it didn't. Well, I think this message is for you, because I know this much. If it's not good, then God's not done. I'm so excited you are here, friends. We're going to talk about what to do. I've got three strategies for you when things don't go as planned, because maybe this hasn't happened to you, but I have a feeling it has. I think it's happened to all of us at one time or another. It is. You get a promise, you really believe strongly in it. You're working toward it. You got all the momentum going. You're believing for it, you have faith for it. You're just like, it's already done. Like, in your books, it's already finished. And then it falls through. Like, you don't get the job, you didn't get the house, you didn't get the girl, you didn't get that promotion, you know, the bill wasn't covered. Like, something happens and you're like, well, wait a minute. That. That just kind of messes with my mind a little bit, because I know God's promises and I know God is good. And. And I know he wanted this for me, and I really felt it so strong. And then what do you do when it doesn't turn out, when things don't go the way you planned, when it doesn't seem like your faith is working? Well, I want to share with you these three strategies, and I think these three strategies I'm going to share with you are going to help not just change your perspective, but keep you going until we reach that promised land, that finished work, because I know this, that Jesus died and was and rose again to give you all of the blessing, all that covenant blessing that is yours. Blessed going out, blessed coming in. Blessed from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet. Your children are blessed. Your household is blessed. Your pantry is blessed. Your body is blessed. Your money is blessed. So I know that his covenant is good, and I know it's trustworthy because it's bound and see, sealed in that blood of Jesus. So if you're in that in between spot, and I call it an in between spot because it's from seed to harvest, right? There's this in between time, there's seed, time and harvest. And if you're in the middle of that time, sometimes it can be a mean time. Like in the meantime, while you're waiting on it. Well, that meantime can feel mean because sometimes it's like I'm not seeing God at work. I'm not seeing the result of my son sowing and my believing in my faith. So let's talk about these three strategies that are really going to help you out, change your perspective and keep you making progress. Right? You are not going to give up now, baby. Hey there. Not on my watch. Ain't no way I'm not going to let you. So I'm linking arms with you today and I think this is really going to bless you and keep you going and build that faith back up. Because without faith is impossible. It truly is. The Bible says without faith is impossible to please God. And what pleases God more than his children prospering. It even says in scripture like it pleases God, he takes pleasure in the prosperity of his child, of his servant. And so if God takes pleasure in our prospering, then we need to activate our faith. So this is going to build your faith up. And the first strategy is this. Understand God's plans are good. Okay? God's plans are good. He is a good God. He's not holding judgment over you. He's not trying to punish you. He's not trying to give your comeuppance. Right. You know, we really should use the word come up. It's way more than we do. I'm just doing my part, so I want to share this verse with you. This is Jeremiah 29:11, you probably know it. I'm going to read to you the classic amplified version. It says this for I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord. Thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil to give you hope in your final outcome. So, so check this out. He wants to give you. And when it was talking about welfare, it's not talking about like a government program, it's talking about faring well, your well being, your, your goodness, your pleasure, your happiness, like everything in your life working well. That's what he's talking about. So his plans are for you to fare well, for you to do very well in everything. You know, the Bible says everything that we touch, everything we put our hand on will prosper. And, and so if you're not prospering and you're putting your hand to it, then that means you just got to keep your hand there a little bit longer. So he wants to give you peace. He wants to give you wellness in all of your areas of life. And he wants to give you hope. That hope is that faith. Understanding this is as good as done. This is sealed, but it says this in your final outcome. So if we're not faring well in all areas of our life, if we're struggling, maybe in a relationship, maybe in our family, maybe with our body, our health, maybe we're struggling in finances, maybe we're struggling emotionally Right now that struggle is showing you that you haven't reached the final outcome. Okay, now, in the, in the, in between, right when we grab hold of God's promise and then we see it physically come to be in our lives is, I call it like reaching into the supernatural, taking hold with your faith and bringing it into the natural. So if we're not seeing that yet in the natural, it means we're still in the process of pulling it in. And that can feel Like a struggle. It can feel like things aren't working out. It can even feel like God isn't coming through for you, that, you know, his covenant isn't working, like you're doing something wrong. Maybe. It's not that you're doing anything wrong. Okay? I. A lot of times when we're in that in between time, we're believing for it and things aren't going as planned. You know, wait, I'm supposed to be able to pay all my bills and there's a whole stack of them right here. I was supposed to, that job was supposed to come through and it did. And you know, my, my, my child, like this was, this X ray was supposed to be all clear and it wasn't in that time. It's so easy to lose your faith. It's so easy to get your whole theology so screwed up that you're like, what am I doing wrong? And, and now we've reverted. When we get into that mindset of I must be doing something wrong, we've reverted back to an old covenant where we have to perform for God's pleasure, where we have to earn our goodness and his approval and his blessing. But because of the new Covenant through Jesus, we don't have to earn that anymore. It's given to us. We inherit it because we are his children, grafted into the blood of Jesus Christ. So it's a dangerous place when you're not seeing the plans come through and you want to revert back to the old covenant. Well, maybe I need to pray more. Maybe I need to sow more. Maybe I need to fast more. I'm not saying any of that's bad. I'm saying it when it's based upon, let me, let me try to prove myself so I can earn God's blessing. That's when it gets a little screwed up. So we have to stay in that place where we know, you know what? He loves me. He loves me and his plans are good. And maybe I just haven't reached the final outcome. And this leads us to point two. The second strategy is understanding God's plans are multi dimensional. Now, we operate in a three dimensional world, right? We are a spirit. We have a soul, which is our mind or will, our emotions. And we're in a body. And that body is navigating us through this experience. We call life, a human life. And it's easy to start to become like the world becomes. And we're in the world, but we're not of the world. But when we're in the world, Long enough we start to become of the world and then we start getting all messed up. We forget who we are. So we are grafted into God through Jesus. We, we were and always will be a spirit being. We are more spiritual than anything else. We are a spirit being. Your true identity is spirit. So when we understand this, we can have the freedom to hold space for the process. But if we lose the understanding and it's. And it's easy to drop out of the spiritual into the physical, jump back into the spiritual, drop back into the physical, jump back into the spiritual, drop back into the physical. This life, it's every day we are navigated by fear. And then we anchor back into faith. And then we're led into confusion, then we're pulled back in with love. So we have this battle and it's okay. I don't anyone who's like, I have achieved it all and I have reached the pinnacle and I am the most awesome, and I never operate by any ounce of fear. I'd be a little skeptical. Just a little. Just a little. But understand, while we're human, we do drop in and out of the physical and the spiritual. And our natural place is like God. So it says, as he is, so are we in this world. So we have to operate spiritually in this physical world. But we're still physical beings, which means sometimes we're limited to that third dimension. We start to look at money as a resource. We start to look at our bodies as more important than, than our minds. We start to navigate by objective evidence instead of our own belief. Like we. It's easy to operate like the world. Romans 12, 2 says, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so you can test and prove God's will for your life, his good, pleasing, perfect will. So it's easy to conform to the pattern of this world because we're in this world and this world operates by objective evidence. They respond to circumstances. If, if A, then B, if this, then that. And so even though we're spiritual beings, we are having a human experience. And it's hard to not always navigate that in a human stimulus response way. Like if someone is angry with me, I'm going to get angry back. Or if there's a deficit, financial deficit, I'm going to stress and strain and start to figure out how am I going to get more money, or if there's a problem with my child, I'm going to immediately try to like, tackle it. And instead of going to God like, it's easy to do that. It's easy to operate by fear and urgency and confusion and all the things that kind of dominate our human experience. But I want to share with you that God operates in the fourth dimension, okay? And he operates in the supernatural. We operate predominantly in the natural. So the goal becomes operate more like God and lift it up higher. I always say, don't work harder, don't work smarter, work higher. When you work higher, you're working more like God. It doesn't matter if you're talking about working to earn money, working to build up a good marriage, working to be a good parent, working to build up a ministry or a career, working for influence and impact. It doesn't matter what you're working on, okay? But we have to learn how to work higher. And then, guess what? We get better results. So I want to share this with you. This comes from First Corinthians, chapter 13. And I want to read to you verses 9, 9 and 10. First, check this out. For our knowledge is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect. And our prophecy, our teaching is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect. So I'm going to stop right there. That was verse nine. So everything you can contain in your head and even those words of prophecy that are spoken to you, okay? Track with me now. This is so important. All of that is partial. It's incomplete. It's not that it's wrong, it's incomplete, it's fragmentary. You're just seeing a glimpse of it. So understand the promises that you pull out of the Bible, the prophecies that are spoken to you and the signals that you get. And like that, you know God. It was a clear sign. And the wisdom that you hold in the knowledge that you have, all of that is just partial. So we'll see a promise in the Bible. It is a partial because it's based upon a continual process in order to be manifest. Because Jesus said the most important parable, he told his disciples, if you don't get this parable, you ain't getting nothing that comes out of my life, okay? Jesus even said there's one parable that's more important than any of the other parables. Jesus even said, if you don't get this one thing, then you ain't going to get anything that's coming out of my mouth. Like, you ain't going to grab hold of any of it if you don't understand this one parable. And it's a parable, sowing and reaping, that we. God's not going to Be mocked. Whatever we sow, we will reap. And so the promise that we see, we're seeing the reaping part. We're seeing the harvest. Like when he says, you will lend to many nations and not borrow. Or. Or when he says, your children will rise up and call you blessed. Or when he says that you will be at that you'll be the head and not that. All those we're seeing in the finished state. And so that is the partial. It's us in our obligation where we have to sow, take care of the soil, keep watering the seed, keep weeding the ground, we keep showing up. So if we don't see it in day two, three, four, or even year two, three, four, who says it's not going to come to harvest in year five, right? So we're seeing the partial of it, just the finish of it. And if we don't understand that, no, it takes seed, time and harvest to get this out, then we're. We're not operating in that fourth dimension like God operates. So he says this in verse 10. But when the complete and perfect, when the total comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away. It'll become antiquated, void, and superseded. So he's saying here, when you step into the finished work, and I guarantee you this is how it works. When you step into the finished work, your perspective on all the work you put in and all the disappointments that you had to go through to enter into that promised land is all going to be. It says vanish away. It's all going to vanish away. It's kind of like when you're having a baby. Like, you can go through hard labor. I'm telling you, as a mom of seven kids, okay, you can go through hard labor and you can. Like, it's excruciating the amount of pain that you go through. But as soon as you hold that baby, it's like you don't even remember. Well, some of you moms are like, oh, Hannah, I remember. I definitely remember. Okay, well, I bet you remember it less. And it's not as painful when. When you're holding that baby. And I also believe 100% that you would do it all over. So when you think about. I talk to these people who are like, billionaires, right? And we're talking a trail of failure, bankruptcy, several times losing businesses, disrupting families, having to move, like, trial after trial. And then they reach this point and all of a sudden it's like all of that past story, it just vanishes away because they understood that that was part of the assignment. So you don't always understand the assignment till you're stepping in the finished work of the assignment. And then it all becomes clear. You know, you're standing on stage and you see like 5,000 people in front of you, and you're like, oh, this is why. This is why there was the bankruptcy and there was a foreclosure. And they're like, now it makes sense, right? And so we don't always understand it. We're not given access to it and the physical only in the spiritual. So God wants to want you to hold on to those promises and keep on holding on even when the process looks really disappointing because it's just not done yet. So that was verse 9 and 10. I want to share with you verse 12, because this kind of brings it home, right? And then I'm going to get to that third strategy. For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim, blurred reflection of reality, as in a riddle or enigma. But then when perfection comes, we shall see in reality and face to face. Now I know in part imperfectly, but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood by God. So I want to share the story with you. We have a neighbor, and he's an elderly gentleman, just as sweet as can be. Love him so much. He's always outside working on his lawn and taking care of his home. And. And every now and then when I'm walking, I'll see him and I'll stop and talk with him. And so this one day, I was on a walk with the dogs, and I stopped and I was talking with him. He was working, trimming some hedges out front, and he was sharing with me. He said, isn't it such a beautiful day? I was like, yes, it is. It's beautiful. He's like, look at the clouds and look at those trees. I'm like, man, this guy, he is either on something or he is high on life. And I'm like, yeah, it's beautiful. He's like, you know, I just had surgery done on my eyes. I was like, really? He said, yeah, I had cataracts and it was so crazy. I was fishing and I was with a buddy. We were out there fishing, and I said, you know, this would be really nice if it just weren't so cloudy. And his friend looked at him and said, what are you talking about? There's not a cloud in the sky. He said, what? And he took a picture of the sky. And he looked at the picture on his phone. He's like, you're right, I am seeing the clouds because of my cataracts. And so that he immediately went back home, set up the appointment for the surgery, got the surgery done. And he said, now. He said, now, Hannah, I've got bionic eyes. I said, I can see everything in a so clear and it's so beautiful. The deal was it was always there. The beauty of the sky, the white fluffy clouds, the beautiful green leaves on the trees, the birds flying, it was always there. But his perspective, the filter he had was contaminated. So he couldn't see that. He couldn't see it yet. Okay, this is what we have to understand, that God there are certain. I'll just call them cataracts, certain things that are, that are skewing the view right now for you. And you're thinking too short term. You're thinking, well, this is not showing up in my life right now. It should be showing up. This should be different. There should be healing here. There should be. There should be like transformation here. There should be an answer to prayer. There should be more supplied that I shouldn't have to struggle like this because I know that's not God's plan for me. But his plan isn't complete yet. You're seeing short term. So I believe, and I'm just going to declare the name of Jesus, that God in his beautiful healing power is going to remove some of those cataracts. Not that you have to pray harder, fast, or, or I mean, all that's good or give more or it's not performance based. It's because he loves you. Boom. That's it. Put a period there. Not he loves me, comma, so I really, really need to be good. No, he loves me, period. So he has removed the judgment. He's not waiting on you to shape up. He is actually saying, I'm working you through a process. If he brought you to the finished work right now, you wouldn't have the story and you wouldn't have the muscle. Now listen to me, please. If he likes automatically like teleported you to the finished work, and we all want that, we all want to like, take the escalator, right? Instead of working on our glutes and our thighs and actually climbing the stairs, we always want to like, be teleported into God's finished work. But if you were teleported, you would not have the strength to hold the blessing and you wouldn't have the story that builds your platform. Okay? Every single person has a story. They all share it when they get to that platform. Some of us aren't willing to go through the weeds to get to the roses. And we have to understand that it's going to take showing up. Even when things aren't going the way I thought they should, even when my limited perspective of God is not revealing itself the way I believed it should, even when it looks like nothing is working, I still show up. So that is like God's going to remove some of those cataracts. He's going to build you up. He's going to clarify things in your life. He's going to build your muscle. He's going to build your story. And here's what you have to know. He will always show up good. He's got you. Even if it's not turning out right now the way you want, he's got you. Which brings me to this third point, and that is what? When things don't go as planned, it means the plan hasn't played itself out. If it's not good, God's not done because all of his ways are good. So if you're in the middle and things aren't going the way you planned, and it seems like the promises aren't working, you just haven't reached the finished work yet. He loves you and nothing has changed about the character of God. And you don't have to prove yourself righteous. You are righteous. The more you know that you're righteous through the blood of Jesus, the more you can start to settle into that identity and not have to work so hard for it. So I want to share this with you. This is Romans 8:28. And I. And I alluded to it earlier, but it says, we are assured and know that God being a partner in their labor, all things work together and are fitting into a plan for good. 2 and 4. Those who love God and are called according to his Design and purpose. 2 and 4. I want you to say that out loud. 2 and 4. Now I want you to say this. It's not happening to me. It's happening for me. Say it again. I don't care where you are. And you know if you didn't say it, you're not putting faith to this. You got to like the mouth is so powerful. The tongue has power of life and death. So speak this out loud. I don't care where you are. I don't care if you're in the gym and you got headphones on and people are going to think you're crazy. Let them think you're I mean, this is a crazy blessed show, babe. Come on. It's a crazy blast show. They got to think you're a little crazy, right? As a matter of fact, if you're riding down the road, roll down the window and scream this out loud, okay? Say it with me. It's not happening to me. It's happening for me. God is good all the time. Let's camp out in that right now that God is good. He's not going to change his character. And your problems right now aren't leaving him, like, stressed out in heaven, wondering what to do about it. Oh, man. How do you pay those bills? Oh, how do we take care of her kid? How do. Oh, no. What? What did she. What. What do we do? She's screwing up everything. No, he's not, like, wringing his hands in heaven. He's got you. And we know from Romans 8:28 that all things are going to work together for good. So if it's not working together for good right now, it hasn't all worked together. It's just fragmentary. So I want you to hold yourself in that spot that. It's just in a fragmentary place right now. It's kind of like that. That period between when you look at the picture on the front of the jigsaw puzzle box and then you see it all together on the table, that in between time, when you're putting it together, is fragmentary. Like, you're seeing a little fragments. You know, here's a little piece I did right here. Here's, like, the tree, and here's the house, and here's someone's face, and you're putting little pieces together. And so I want you to understand, if things aren't going the way you planned right now, and if you're in that in between time, you're putting together the puzzle, listen for the wisdom of God. And you keep showing up. That's the only thing you need to do. It is obedience. He doesn't require sacrifice because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. He wants obedience. Just keep showing up. Keep trusting God. Keep knowing that he loves you. And if it didn't work out for good, then God would have to change his nature. He would have to change his name. He would have to change his whole personality. He would have to change his covenant, and his whole universe would fall apart. So there's a lot more at stake right here. God's covenant is good. His promises are good. So if you're not in the finished work, then, baby, you just haven't gotten there yet. Keep showing up. Keep trusting him. Remember, it's not happening to you. It's happening for you. You keep plugging in, sweetie, and you are going to be blessed like crazy.
